The current prompt on Tag Tuesday is Gemini. I chose to use a literal interpretation as I am a twin myself. This tag is dedicated to my twin sister; we may live miles apart, but it never takes long to catch up!
I started by gluing the top layer of a paper towel mop up sheet to a #8 manilla tag. It was one that a crafty friend had gifted to me from cleaning Distress Oxides off her Phill Martin hearts stencil. It was sealed with Distress Collage medium to create a non porous surface, dried and trimmed.
I chose an image of twin sisters from the Tim Holtz Paper Dolls collection and colour tinted the dresses using two of the Faber-Castell Big Brush markers. Funnily enough, they bear a resemblance with my sister and I when we were younger except we had blonde hair; we even had gingham dresses too. The butterfly wings are made from cardboard, die cut and embossed using the Bigz Butterfly Duo die and matching folder (Tim Holtz/Sizzix). They were then painted in black gesso and gilding wax added once dry. Once added to the tag, Faber Castell Big Brush markers were used to add shading around the image and along the bottom of the tag. The sentiment was printed using my Dymo Letratag, trimmed, added to the tag, then outlined using the black Sakura Everyday micron pen.
