This tag was made using three of the four prompts from the June Challenge on Tag It Tuesday. 1 Newspaper; 2 Use a die cut; 3 Add texture with a palette knife; 4 Neutrals. I used prompts 1, 2 and 4.
I started by trying out some of my new Amsterdam acrylics directly onto a #8 manilla tag. To create a neutral background I used Raw Sienna, Titanium Buff Deep and Yellow Ochre, adding a little onto the tag then spreading out the paint with a large flat brush.
Once dry, I added more of the same colours of paint in the same manner. To fulfil prompt #1, I stamped the Newsprint Stamp (designed by Sam Poole for Creative Expressions) over the entire tag using Coffee Archival ink. I then added two of my die cut embellishments (fulfilling prompt #2) from my stash. For details of how these were made see HERE. The tag was completed with three of the Small Talk stickers (Tim Holtz idea-ology).
