This was my second DT sample for the Royal Talens shows that were on Hochanda yesterday. Once again I used a 7" x 5" canvas board as a substrate.
I started by giving the canvas board a coat of clear gesso, then drying it thoroughly. I then played with the yellow and red Royal Talens Amsterdam acrylic inks. Drops of each colour were added to the canvas, then blown through a straw to produce a random background. Where the inks mixed, a lovely shade of orange appeared.
Having gone over the canvas with an antistatic pad, I added one of the Frog stamps (Claritystamp) using Onyx Black Versafine ink and heat embossing with detail clear EP. I extended the branches using a black embossing pen and heat embossed them in the same way. Two of the quote chips by Tim Holtz idea-ology were given a hint of colour using Royal Talens Ecoline water colour pens and glued into place. As I wasn't happy with the way that the extended branches had turned out, I covered them with two of the Small Talk stickers. The centre of the branch was coloured in black using Onyx Black ink and a Claritystamp blending pen to match the backgrounds of the stickers.
