Tag It Tuesday April Challenge: Add Letters and/or Numbers

This tag was created for the Tag It Tuesday Facebook group challenge for April:  Add letters and/or numbers.  I enjoyed building up the layers, but I wasn't initially sure about the finished tag, it's not a colour combination I would usually go for.  It's growing on me though.

I started with a #8 manilla tag and covered the whole thing with Cactus Flower Archival ink through the large Countdown layering stencil designed by Tim Holtz (THS058).  I then used white gesso to tone down the colour and push it into the background.  The next step was to add letters in places using Sepia Archival ink through the small Cargo and Typo stencils (THMS001, THMS040).

Once everything was dry, I ran the tag through my Grand Calibre using the number side of the double sided M-Bossabilities folder by Spellbinders (EL-027).  The embossed sections between the sepia ink were then emphasized using Amethyst Metallic Gilding Wax by Cosmic Shimmer and finally, Walnut Stain distress ink was blended into three of the corners.
To add yet more texture, I used Metallic Copper Dreamweaver embossing paste through the mini Numbered layering stencil by Tim Holtz (THMS020).  I dried it gently using a heat tool, then went round the edge of each number with my white Signo broad Uni-ball pen.  The final touch was adding some elements from the Clippings Stickers by Tim Holtz and a strip of design tape from the Passport collection (also by Tim Holtz).
