WOYWW 736: Five Days and Counting

Welcome to my weekly contribution to desks shared from all over the world thanks to Julia at Stamping Ground - home of WOYWW.

As you can see I have embraced my left handedness by treating myself to a few Tim Holtz items including the left-handed glass mat and some left-handed scissors.
As you can see I am keeping up with my daily drawing challenge.
I am glad tomorrow is a day off because tonight is Awards Night at school so I shall be there fro my usual 7.30am arrival time until it finishes which could be as late as 10pm.  It isn't worth driving home and back between the end of school and the start of the evening.  Only five more work days between today and the end of term.  I shall have no more marking to sort after next Monday and can gradually start to think about winding down for the summer holidays.
Happy WOYWW - stay safe everyone.

  1. Wow, that is a long day! Hope the awards go well. also hope you get something to eat in between school ending and the awards! I didn't realise Tim also did a left handed mat, I'd have thought you just turned it round... never miss a trick, do they. Happy WOYWW Helen #4

  2. I LOVE your daily drawings. Each is very clever and so well done.

I really hope you have a good awards program, but I feel for you having to put in such a long day.

I'm impressed with your left handed mat and scissors. My grandmother's sister was left handed. When she was learning to write, the teacher tied her left hand and arm behind her back forcing her to write right handed. She went on to become a medical doctor and performed surgeries left handed. She refused to bend. She was my role model. I was her favorite niece and she always let me know it, too! Happy WOYWW from # 2.

  3. What a wonderful feeling is that of winding down. Do you have lots of form parties and that kind of thing - videos instead of lessons etc? I never did enjoy that last week, the kids were demob happy. (not saying the staff weren't LOL)
Gosh that is a long day ahead of you, hope you get some chill time between end of school and Awards Programme.

  4. I hope the evening goes well - good to celebrate achievements both for children and hard working staff. Great leftie purchases - M and G are lefties but both use scissors right handed! x x Jo

  6. Blimey, that is a really long day, thank goodness you can catch up tomorrow! Hope the left handed tools make crafting a bit easier, I know Lynne has a good selection of LH equipment.

  7. Oh my goodness that is a long day at school, hope it all goes well for you. OK I'm a little stumped by Day 186 Clean, a little brush that's Ok and a cloth too but the tall tube is confusing me? Love your Tim Holtz additions. I got his scissors and as he insisted they would cut "anything" I tried to remove one of those clothes tags the shop had left on a purchase by mistake (no alarm either!) Needless to say it didn't work and I ruined the scissors! They are now gathering dust hanging under my bottom shelf. Ho hum - Hugs BJ#13

  8. I bet the left handed mat will make all sorts of sense, and I hope the scissors are efficient! Five more days...what a countdown. I love that you're going to 'gradually thinks about winding down'...I would get to day 5 and then collapse for a week, no plans to ease myself in!!

  9. Oh! How wonderful! the end of term is in sight! I remember how I too used to count down the days . . .
Love that glass mat . . . I have a phobia about glass so, much as I would love it, I couldn't use it but it is a really good purchase.
I tried left handed scissors once, I think I have used right handed ones for so long I couldn't cut with them, Interested to see how you get on with them.
    Enjoy the week

  11. I'm grabbing a few minutes to whizz around my favourite blogs. It's been one of those mornings with a customer who keeps forgetting to come [4th time now!!].
I hope your end of term goes well and the holidays come quickly for you.

  12. Oh Sarah, a long day for sure, hope you can find time to wind down and enjoy the evening. I was surprised to see Left handed items. Long ago I found a small catalog, gave it to my son of ALL lefthanded products. He loved it. i can do both hands...I was a lefty but a 2nd grade Nun made me change, I blame my poor handwriting on that. Enjoy a great week ahead.

  14. Happy Belated WOYWW. I hope the Awards Evening went smoothly. Great to see left handed products. I am very firmly right handed, but hubby can use either hand, which must be so useful. Ali x #16

  15. I appreciate your drawing a day challenge, and feel drawn ::snort:: to embrace it. Right now I keep a written journal, as well as a simple b&w/pen art journal. The written is a daily discipline (because that's what I need at the moment), and the art is committed to at least one page a month... yet your simple and lovely drawings are inspiring me to ratchet up the art. Thanks for that!
