Monochrome Japanese Butterfly Rounds

I decided to create a monochrome card as my first project with these beautiful SHAC Japanese Butterfly Rounds stamps and use the Japanese Character stamps to create a background.

Stamp the outline Japanese Butterfly Round from the Beauty set onto Clarity stencil card in Black Soot Distress Archival ink.
Add the background stamp over the top in Shadow Grey Archival ink.
Add further shading using grey Polychromos (#231, #232, #233, #234, #235).
Die cut the topper using the 3” nested circles die and a mat from black card using the corresponding picot die.
Stamping directly onto the front of a 7” x 7” white card blank, add characters from the Japanese text stamp set in Hickory Smoke Distress Archival ink. Add the Beauty sentiment from the first stamp set in the same black ink as before.
To finish, mat up the topper and add it to the front of the card.

Sarah this is awesome. I just did a month's worth of Japanese 3x3's. Was so fun, the images you've shared would have been awesome to use for that. I did find a small group. Enjoy a great week.

These images are charming. I like this card. I have a few stamps that show the Japanese character and the name in English.
