This is the first of my samples that I am sharing for the new Clarity stencils. They will be launched live from the NEC at 12pm today (GMT) on Hochanda. I had great fun playing with them and trying out some new techniques. This is the first time that I have used Brushos with a stencil, but it certainly won't be the last.
I sprayed temporary adhesive onto the back of the houses and fields stencil and laid it onto a piece of Clarity 7"x7" stencil card, pressing down firmly. I then added a mini moon mask. I sprinkled Brushos in Ost. Blue across the sky, Terracotta across the houses and Moss Green, Burnt Sienna and Light Brown across the fields. I then misted the card with water and used a water brush to draw out the colours where necessary. The stencil and mask were then removed.
Once everything was dry and the stencil clean, I ran an anti static pad over the card and added Versamark ink to the stencil. This was laid back over the image and run through an embossing machine to transfer the ink onto the card. I then heat embossed it using detail white EP.
The image was trimmed back, matted onto black card leaving a narrow border and added to an A5 card blank.
To finish, 'Wishing You Happiness' from mini word chains 15 & 16 was stamped along the bottom of the card in black dye based ink.

It all sounds highly technical to me, but what a fantastic result. Well done.
To look at it reminded me of painting on silk where you use a gutta as a resist then add the colour once it’s droed

Thanks for sharing this process. I have something similar to Brushos which I love for making backgrounds but putting them through a stencil is something new to me. The finished effect is stunning so it will be on my list of things to try.
