WOYWW 512: Fitting a Quart into a Pint Pot

I must admit to feeling very tired this week.  I have been burning the candle at both ends for the last week trying to fit everything in.   I can finally ease off a little as the inspection at school is over, my samples are all posted, data is nearly all entered (to be finished at school this afternoon) and instead I can look forward to a day crafting with Eva tomorrow.  Today is her birthday so I'd like to wish her many happy returns!
My desk today shows the background that I created in my leather bound journal while at the JJAMMMA (Junk Journals and Mindful Mixed Media Art) meet up last Thursday in Stockport.  I got some inks out while considering where to go next, but must admit that it doesn't look any different this morning.
The crocheted flower was a gift from my Great Niece at the family meal we went to over the weekend.  She is only 7 but has developed quite a passion for crocheting and using up all sorts of odds and ends of wool.
#2 son, who flies back to his girlfriend on Saturday, took pity on me at the weekend and dragged me out of the house.  I thought we were just going for a short drive: nearly two hours later we arrived at this amazing waterfall in Wales (don't ask me where lol), where we enjoyed the view for 20 minutes before heading home again.  It was good to spend some time with him away from school work.
Please head over to Julia at The Stamping Ground to visit more desks.  I have just confirmed that I will be attending the 10th anniversary crop on 1st June and I would love to meet as many as possible face to face.

See you on the 1st June all willing.
Lovely photo of you with the waterfall - as where it is/was LOL
How sweet of your GN to crochet that flower for you - did she do lots of them and give them as presents? This is a future crafter who needs to be nurtured.
Glad you are feeling better after all the extra work you have had to do - hope that sone 2 has helped you with his being there - must be nice to see him but sad when he has to go back.
Hugs, Neet 4 x
ps happy birthday to Eva

I think Mother's day this year has everyone confused with it being so late, at least you have had special time with him over the past couple of weeks. What a lovely day out you must have had there's so much natural beauty to see in the UK. Enjoy some down time creativity now, we all need it in this busy world.

Glad you got some free time now. Your niece is very clever, good to learn these skills though. All waterfalls look very much alike so no guesses as to where your son took you. Would have been a welcome refreshing break though.x

Now what are the chances of two deskers ending up at the same waterfall this week?!! Hope you enjoyed the road trip with your son and had a good break from the madness of work/design stuff. I like that background very much, like a hazy summe sky, beautiful!

You pack so much in anyway Sarah, I often wonder where your energy comes from. I hope you have a chance to put some rest in the bank for the next challenges! Please wish Eva a really happy birthday, she shares it with my extra special Mum, so I call for cream cakes all round!

The background is fabulous - it's so perfect I think I'd find it hard to put the first mark on it - I can't wait to see what you do with it! What a lovely and special thing for your son to do - that is a lovely photo of you and the waterfall - a lovely memory for the future.
What a sweet little flower too - it's great that your niece is starting young on the crafty journey - long may she crochet!
I hope you have a good week

That's extraordinary - 2 people at the same waterfall in one week! Sorry to hear you've worn yourself out, Sarah - I know the feeling all too well. Please wish Eva a happy belated birthday from me and hope she had a lovely day. Thank you for your visit and I'm sorry that you, also, are unable to see the photos on my blog post - nobody seems able to see them except me!! I think it's Google messing about again - I've been having a lot of trouble lately. I couldn't see Julia's photos first thing this a.m. on the iPad, but could later on the laptop so I don't know what's going on. Can you see the photos on any of my other posts?

Happy WOYWW and thank you for your earlier visit. I am ashamed to say that your 7 year old great niece can do something I have never managed to master - crochet! I can knit, but for some reason crochet doesn't insert itself in my brain. Looks like you were at Aber Falls near Abergwyngregyn. A beautiful area. Ali x #15
