Winter. You'll Miss It When It's Gone: A Journal Page

I'm still catching up with my art journaling in between other projects which can't yet be shared.  Yesterday, I finally finished off the December page for 2017 over on Mission Inspiration.  Given how hot it's been, I felt the quote was particularly apt.
As usual there were three suggested colours: Berry Red, Holly Green and Gold, eight prompt steps and 5 choices of prompt word.  I did include all eight steps, but not in the order originally listed and I combined prompt 4 and prompt 8.  The five prompt word choices were Escape, Dream, Comfort, Winter and Shine.  As you can see, I chose WInter in an attempt to feel cooler lol.
Step 1: Cover your page with patterned papers.  I only used one, although I did need to piece various scraps together to cover the whole piece of mixed media card (nearly A4 size).
Step 1
Step 2: Add a thin wash of white paint/gesso.  I used gesso over the whole page, making sure that the larger areas of text remained legible.
Step 2
I completed steps 4 and 8 next:  Add paints/colour with your fingers / Finish with a border/frame of your choice.  I added a thick frame of iridescent precious gold Pebeo Studio Acrylic with my fingers and set it to one side to dry while I worked on the focal image for step 5.
Step 4 and 8
Step 3: Add text or images over your page.  I wasn't going to follow this step originally as there was already text all over the paper that I had used for step 1.  However I decided to go over some of the larger words with a deep scarlet red Pitt Artist pen.
Step 3
To create my focal image, I stamped the Snow Globe Outline stamp (Claritystamp) onto a piece of Sheena's stamping card in Onyx Black Versafine ink and heat embossed it in clear EP.

I then stamped the teeny weenie tree cluster stamp - which comes with the same set - in Olympia Green Versafine ink twice, the moon from the Stag Outline set (also Claritystamp) and the sleigh from the Snow Globe set in Onyx Black and heat embossed them all in clear EP.
Blue Chase Artistry ink was brushed over the sky and the base of the snow globe was coloured using the Scarlet Ecoline pen (Royal Talens).  The globe was then fussy cut.
Step 5: Add one or more seasonal focal images.  Before the snow globe was added to the page, I covered the whole of the globe with Versamark ink and heat embossed it with an icicle clear EP.

Step 5
Step 6: Add some gold bling (paint, flakes or glitter).  I chose instead to add some large gold snowflake shaped pieces of confetti to tie in with the snow / winter theme of the page.
Step 6
Step 7: Add journaling, quote or phrase.  This was my last step as I had already added the border for step 8.  I stamped the prompt word 'Winter' in Versamark ink using the Word Chain Alphabet by Claritystamp.  It was heat embossed in red metallic EP.  The remainder of the quote was printed off onto clear plastic using my Dymo Letratag and stuck onto the page.
Step 7
I now only have to complete the July 2018 prompt and I will be completely up to date with my Mission Inspiration journal.
