Altered Playing Cards on a Journal Page

This is the first page that I have made for the July prompts on Nina Ribena's Art Journal Prompts and More.  The monthly prompt is Puzzled and week 3 is to alter playing cards.  I still have to go back and work out how I am going to include altered dominoes (week 1) and altered jigsaw pieces (week 2) on a journal page.
I started by working on four playing cards that I had been sent in happy mail.  First I used an emery board to sand them back.
Next I applied several coats of white gesso.
Using my fingers I added Amsterdam acrylic paint to each card: Emerald Green, Azo Yellow Light, Naphthol Red Deep and Cobalt Blue (Ultramarine).
I added a second colour to each card using the same method: Yellowish Green, Azo Yellow Deep, Naphthol Red Light and Brilliant Blue.
Next I added stamping in coordinating colours of Archival ink to each card.  The stamps used are all from the Collector's Edition by IndigoBlu (#1, #2, #3, #4, #6, #7, #10, #14 and #16).
Various Paper Dolls from all three collections  were added to each card.
Finally a suitable word from the Chit Chat sticker book (Tim Holtz idea-ology) was added to each one.
To create a background I worked on mixed media card (18.5cm x 19.5cm).  Frayed Burlap and Antique Linen Distress Oxides were blended over the page, lightly spritzed with water and dried thoroughly.
Next I used the same IndigoBlu Collector's Edition stamps as before, to create a background in five shades of brown Archival ink: Acorn, Coffee, Sepia, Tree Branch and Potting Soil.
The altered cards were then added to the page.
The quote was printed using my Dymo Letratag and the prompt word 'cards' stamped in Acorn Archival ink using the Claritystamp Word Chain Alphabet.  A fine white Posca pen added a drop shadow to the stamping.
Finally, the page was edged in Jet Black Archival ink and a dark brown Pitt Artist pen was used to draw round the printed text blocks.
