Promise a lot: Art Journal Page

As it is the summer holidays and I have more time for crafting,  I decided to catch up with a page from my Mission Inspiration journal.  I missed two pages at the end of 2017, but left space for them in my journal.  Between other projects I have worked on the prompts for November 2017 over the last few days.  As usual there were 8 steps, 3 suggested colours and a choice of 5 prompt words.
Step 1: Glue and layer blocks of newspaper text.  I took this literally and tore up an old newspaper, gluing and sealing the pieces onto a piece of mixed media card using Distress Collage Medium.
Step 1
Step 2: Cover with a thin wash of colour.  As one of the colour suggestions was Teal,  I used the Decadent Teal Colour Cloud (Phill Martin / Creative Expressions) and blended it over the whole page.
Step 2
Step 3: Make marks with your fingers.  This got messy as I used Paradise Teal Archival ink to add three wavy lines over the page.
Step 3
Step 4: Use a stencil or two to add texture.  I used the large Dotty Wave stencil from Claritystamp and DecoArt white modeling paste to add three areas of texture.
Step 4
Step 5: Add a focal image or two.  I decided to add five.  I used the Tropical Fish stamps from Claritystamp and Onyx Black Versafine ink.

The direct cut option on the Brother Scan N Cut saved some time.
The remaining suggested colours were Raspberry and Bright Yellow, so I used Ecoline pens (Light Rose, Deep Yellow) to colour them in.
They were then added to the page.
Step 5
Step 6: Add splatters or textured sprinkles.  For this I glued Teal Colour Fragments and Teal Mica Flakes (Stampendous Frantage Encrusted Jewel Kit) along the inked lines using Cosmic Shimmer acrylic glue.
Step 6
Step 7: Scrape / drag white paint around your edges.  I used Amsterdam Titanium White acrylic paint and a small palette knife for this.  I also added a quote using one of the prompt words (Promise, Sacred, Native, Dazzle and Face were the choices).  The prompt 'Promise'  is by Claritystamp (Word Chains 7) and was stamped in Versafine ink and heat embossed in clear EP.  The rest of the quote was made up of words from the Tim Holtz Chit Chat sticker book with 'lot' printed using my Dymo Letratag.
Step 7 and quote
Step 8: Create a frame or border round your page.  I decided to outline the textured dots near the edges of the page using a fine black Posca pen and continued all round the page.
Step 8
