As my husband's birthday is so close to Christmas (it was yesterday) , I try to avoid Christmas colours and images when creating his birthday card. This year, I decided to keep it clean and simple in navy blue and white.
I started with a piece of A4 navy blue linen card, folded in half to create a landscape A5 card blank. A piece of navy blue and white striped card was cut to 20.5cm x 14.3cm and matted on top.
Two pieces of white card (5cm x 20cm and 6.5cm x 20cm) were added at the top and bottom. Using the third built in font on the Brother Scan N Cut, I cut the letters 'HAPPY' set at 30mm in height from navy blue card. I also cut 'first birthday' set to 85mm in width from the same card but discarded 'first'. These were glued into place. To finish, the word 'husband' from the Completely Relative stamp set by Stamps Away was added in Cobalt Blue Archival ink.
