Doodle Flowers Cascading Card

I was asked to make a cascading card by a friend.  I haven't made one for ages but I am really pleased with the dramatic effect of the finished piece using Tina Cox's Doodle Flowers (designed for Claritystamp).

ATCoin Nativity Triptych.

I haven't worked with ATCoins for a while.  I wanted to create a nativity scene and decided to use three of the coins to form a triptych Christmas decoration. 

On Your Travels Summer 2018: A Journal Page

This is the second page for the On Your Travels theme, which is the August prompt over on Nina Ribena's Art Journal Prompts and More.  I decided to base this page on our recent summer holiday in Yorkshire.

Nautical Tag

The latest challenge over on Tag Tuesday is Nautical/Seaside.  I decided to have a play with some stamps and dies that hadn't been used before to create this monochrome tag.

Snarky Fish? An Art Journal Page

I had a play in my Strathmore Visual Journal trying out some different background techniques.  As I added text, I am entering this into the June Challenge over on Country View Challenges:  The Written Word.  I rather like the snarky comments on the Dyan Reaveley stamps and have used a few of them recently.

Crafty Short Cuts to a Humerous Tag

This is my third and final contribution to the May prompt over on Country View Challenges: Be Humorous.  It is also a tag, as I love to have plenty to use as bookmarks. I was in a bit of a hurry to create this one, so used some crafty shortcuts to get great results in a short amount of time.

Artist Trading Coins: Blue and Yellow!

The latest challenge over on Junk Journals and Mindful Mixed Media Art (JJAMMMA) involves making Artist Trading Coins, a new phenomenon introduced by Joanne from Craftyhodges.  I shall also be sharing these on Nina Ribena's Art Journal Prompts and More as they fit the May prompt 'Trade It'.  The colour scheme to be used in the challenge was blue and yellow which I love in combination.

Artist Trading Coins on a Journal Page

The prompt for this month over on Nina Ribena's Art Journal Prompts and More is Trade It.  For the first week Nina introduced Joanne's (Crafty Hodges) idea of Artist Trading Coins, similar to the traditional ATC but on a 2.5" circle base.  She was inspired by .  As I am still trying to produce a weekly art journal page, I decided to make some and use them as focal points for my page.  I actually created eight, but only used five on the page.

Masculine Birthday Card

As my husband's birthday is so close to Christmas (it was yesterday) , I try to avoid Christmas colours and images when creating his birthday card.  This year, I decided to keep it clean and simple in navy blue and white.

For You

I have been wanting to try out these stamps ever since I saw the talented Leonie Pujol introduce them and the fantastic reverse stencil method.  When I first saw the samples, I couldn't believe that such an effective and exciting method of creating a sentiment hadn't been thought of before!  

Paper Weaving as a Background

For the background to this I was inspired by an art journal layout by France Papillon in the March 2014 edition of Craft Stamper Magazine.  I decided to use the technique to create the paper weaving but as a full background rather than just sections of the page as in the original version.

I started with 2 x A5 pieces of white card and lightly blended Vintage Photo distress ink all over one and Peacock Feathers all over the other.  I then used the same ink to lay down some darker sections through stencils (Tim Holtz - Bubble (THS002) and Harlequin (THS016) layering stencils).  I added some Black Soot distress ink through a Prima Crackle stencil (#564247) onto the brown piece and also a little at the edge.  A very light mist with water in some places on both to add further texture, a dab with some kitchen towel and I was ready to start the fun part!
