Masculine Birthday Card

This card was made for my brother-in-law who celebrated his birthday yesterday.  He is a keen sailor, so the Adjust the Sails stamp set from Claritystamp was perfect for the occasion.
I created a base card from a piece of A4 white linen card folded in half.  This was stamped all over in Majestic Blue Versafine ink using the 'Happy' stamp from Word Chain 14 and the 'Birthday' stamp from Word Chain 3 (Claritystamp).
For the topper I stamped the image from the Adjust the Sails stamp set onto a piece of white card die cut using one of the nesting circle dies by Tonic Studio (7th die in).  I used Majestic Blue Versafine ink and heat embossed the image with clear embossing powder.
This was coloured in using Ecoline pens and a water brush.  The topper was then matted onto a piece of blue pearlescent card, die cut with the next size up from the circle set.
The next two dies provided a white mat and a red mat to go with the splash of colour in the sailor's jumper and the flag.
The sentiment from the same stamp set was stamped (using the same method as for the focal image) onto a piece of white card measuring 8.5cm x 4cm, matted onto blue (9cm x 4.5cm), then white (10cm x 5.5cm) and finally onto red (10.5cm x 6cm).
It only remained to add the sentiment and topper onto the base card.
