WOYWW 613: Heading for Normality?

Well another Wednesday is here in the blink of an eye so I add my contribution to the weekly get together with Julia and fellow deskers at Stamping Ground for WOYWW.

There has been a change to my desk this week as my new Washi drawers finally arrived.  I decided not to give Tom and Peter nose bleeds by stacking them on the first two and instead added them to the side.  It has given me a perch for my pen storage and I can therefore access my Ecoline and Kuretake brush pens a lot more easily now.

Thank you for all the suggestions last week for an extra prompt.  Lynne suggested drawing potbanks so I went with the word local and added the canal too.

All my drawings from the last couple of weeks have been collected together in yesterday's post (see HERE if interested).  I have continued into March with the daily drawings too - now using the #inktober2016 prompts for this month.

I must admit that I am rather looking forward to teaching face to face again next week.  All the KS3 pupils will be tested on Monday and then spend the morning in forms once the results are in, so with twice weekly testing, mask wearing at all times and the fact that my first vaccination was three weeks ago today, I am less worried than I was in September.

STay safe everyone and happy WOYWW.  I'll be round to visit after work or tomorrow morning.

I’m slightly less worried about you going back to face to face now too, bet you’re really looking forward to actually seeing them and not having to do everything twice. Or so it seems to me. Really enjoying your dedication to the daily drawings. You won’t look back on them and forget that it was actually 2021 when you did them, despite the page dated 2016? See how my mind works. I’m almost worried.

Really love the little canal scene! Great perspective - probably one of my favourites of all your mini pics. Good luck with going back to school. It's been a headache trying to get our heads around who is being tested on which day and at what time and we only have 2 young people to think about so goodness knows how the school is managing the logistics. They've been strict about open doors and windows too so if your school is the same, here's wishing you lots of lovely weather! Stay safe and keep smiling, Lisa-Jane #7

Morning Sarah. I wish you well being back in the classroom next week. My grandies are heading that way, too. My daughters have spent the week running the kids back and forth for their tests. One has even offered to train to do the testing, as no way have you as teachers got the extra time to do all that!
posh storage - but oh my - how much drooling is going to be done today with all those glorious washi tapes on view!!
Take care. God bless.

I like your pens storage..I made mine out of cat food boxes but still have to add deviders...and most of my Promarkers are so old (No blogging for almost six years so they were in attic)nearly all of them have no colours on their ends... so, best guess! Had my jab too so hopfully we can soon get make to some kind of normal. The drawings are coming along great. Have a Happy WOYWW, crafty week and stay safe! ((Lyn)) #16

When you said testing them on Monday I thought how cruel to test them on their first they back - then I realised you meant Covid testing LOL! My son's going back too - so no more lie-ins until 9:00! Love the new set-up - very handy! Super sketch with the canal - I would have never thought of something like that! Have a lovely week! xx zsuzsa #22

I love the washi storage, it must make it so much easier to see what you have - note to self: need to sort out washi tapes! I enjoy your daily drawings and love seeing your take on each prompt.
I hope your teaching goes well next week, it all sounds a lot safer now and I'm glad you are vaccinated, that must be a huge relief.
Have a good week,

Having been a teacher myself I know what you must have been going through and will be hoping beyond hope that everything can go back to some sort of normality. I don't think that many people can relate to the amount of extra work that this will have made and the sort of people we are we would just get on with it and do the best we can for the children who are both in and out of school. You take care and have a happy woyww, Angela x19x

Hi Sarah, I adore the potbanks and the Cauldon canal! It takes me back home! I’m glad they’re making it safer for you to teach now. They will all have lots of stories they can tell about « Le confinement «  😏.
Take care and happy WOYWW

Still loving the little drawers, can't find the post where you mentioned them before. Did trawl through Amazon for something similar to put my monitor on instead of the Thesaurus I am currently using but came up blank. If you could let me know which supplier you use that would be great. Do you think they could hold a monitor? Anyway Happy WOYWW BJ#13

Sarah, I KNOW you are ready for face-to-face teaching again! I would be! As a teacher, that's what you signed up for and had a passion for. I know you were still teaching via the internet, etc... but nothing beats hands-on face-to-face contact especially to the students. You learn so much better, I think! Blessings and safety as you start back! I really like your "local" drawing! I can almost feel like I am there! And the "noisy" one, I sure remember loving those noisy guys as a kid! LOLOL My parents hated them, but I loved them! LOL Again, take care and stay healthy Sarah! Blessings Felicia #26

You will soon be back to teaching, the end is in sight! We are hoping to get away with the caravan in May, so no sooner than it is okay to meet family we shall be off on our own! Have a great week Angela #17

Love your pen storage. Alex has two tests next week and goes back in the following Monday. He can't wait! Sorry I'm missing in action again this week - we have building work at ours and every evening I am having to move things round the house to make way for the next thing! I hope to be back next week. Happy WOYWW. Take care and stay safe. Caro xx

So cool to have your washi tapes organized and handy along with your pens. Love the "local" drawing. Had to think for a second to figure out the noisy. Hope the teaching goes well. We're supposed to start all in-school here mid-March but we'll see.
Have a great week!

It must be so nice to go to work and feel safer about contracting Covid. I'm very happy for you! Your drawings are awesome as usual, I especially like "fast"! We are just starting our vaccines with over 80 year olds not in nursing homes on March 15th. I feel we are so behind! Hubby and I will be lucky to get ours in June. Seems like such a long time away. In the meantime, today is day number 351 of staying at home for me. I rarely go out. Thanks for your visit, have a wonderful week, Lindart #29

I am sure you must feel happier about the face to face teaching now with all the safety precautions put in place. How will you cope enforcing the mask wearing with - say, 5th year stroppy boys?
Good to see your washi. tape holder but it makes me wonder just how much washi tape do you have - and how much do you use it?
Hugs, Neet 12 xx

Hi Sarah, I'm glad you are feeling less worried about returning to school. I'm feeling slightly better with having had my first vaccination. Still no news about us returning to the office, but I won't feel quite so apprehensive when we do go back. I would get the same drawers for washi tapes, but I have nowhere to put them! I'm trying to reduce what is on my desk, to give me more crafting space. We'll see! Lol. Have a lovely week, Heather xx #25

Your desk is looking awesome, Sarah - all those lovely washi tapes and the colourful pens. Your drawings are as brilliant as ever - love the canal one and the "noise" one too.

Thank you for your visit and your lovely comment. Everybody has anecdotes about the inefficiency of the NHS. I think your suggestion is a good one! I didn't know Toyota had done that. Amazing what a bit of incentive will do to motivate people to help make positive changes.

Happy belated WOYWW,

It's early days I know but I did feel a great sense of relief once I'd had my jab. Seems like a step forward. Hope all goes well next week. Loving your new storage - had to laugh at the boys getting vertigo!! Have a good week, stay safe, stay well, love n hugs Cindy xx#18

Hi Sarah!
My washi wouldn't begin to fit in those drawers. I'll show mine off someday lol

Lovely drawings. I've been getting the itch to sketch. Hmmm

Thanks for your visit. Always a pleasure. Be safe!
