Coordinating Scraps to Create a Tag

I finally managed to find time to join in with the June Challenge over on Tag It Tuesday.  Better last minute than never lol.  The four prompts this month were 1) Add mountains or trees; 2) Add dictionary text; 3) Purple and 4) Use a random scrap from your desk.  I used all four for a change.

I had an piece of copy paper on my desk that I had used to clean up my brayer for a previous project.  I added it to a #8 manilla tag and trimmed it down.

I decided to combine prompts 1 and 2.  I laid the mountains and hills mask from Claritystamp over a page torn from an old German/English dictionary and drew round it in pencil.

Once fussy cut, this was added to the tag, taking care not to get any glue on the front.

To tie the mountains into the background I added watercolour pencil in shades of purple.

Next, I added a moon using the outer part of a mini moon mask and white acrylic paint.

I also had a die cut on my desk where I had been trying out my New Design Die Club dies.  It is an aperture die which I had cut from a piece of 8cm x 8cm black card.

It fitted the width of the tag perfectly but I didn't want the frame at the top.  I used a small pair of scissors to trim away some of the die cut.

This was then added at the bottom of the tag.

To bring out the bird, I added white gel pen to the image and blended it out with my finger, building up layers of colour.

To finish, I added a Tim Holtz Small Talk sticker and went round it with a black micron pen.
