Creating Texture Through A Combination of Gel Printing and Stamping

Once again, I tried to use a stencil in a different way.  This time I used one of the new mixed media stencils from Claritystamp in a combination of traditional brushing ink through plus gel printing.  Maria Moorhouse will be bringing plenty more demos today on Hochanda at 9am, 1pm and 5pm.
Attach the rings stencil to a piece of 7” x 7” stencil card. Brush Funky Fuchsia Artistry ink through the stencil.
Blend Groovy Grapes Artistry ink over the 6” x 6” gel press plate using a Speedball brayer. Lay the stencil over the top and take off some of the ink with a paper towel. Remove the stencil and stamp the plate (on a mega mount) over the first image, lining up the rings to create a slight drop shadow.
For further texture, add Funky Fuchsia ink onto the clean gel press plate in the same manner as before and gently lay a piece of paper towel over the plate to transfer the texture onto the surface. Stamp over the print.
Add four of the Wee Gymnasts and Celebrate from Word Chain 3 in black ink.
Add further shading using a purple pencil.
Trim back to 6.5” x 6.5” and add to the front of a 7” x 7” black card blank.
I love the textured effect that this technique helped create.  The purple pencil also helps the 3D effect.

Those rings are perfect for those little images! And the way you've layered it gives such depth to the whole piece! X
