This art journal page uses a favourite technique of mine, a combination of a Distress Oxide background and collage using a magazine clipping. The sentiment stickers were the perfect fit.
Cut a piece of the large stencil card to 8.5” x 8.5”. Blend Fossilized Amber and Mustard Seed Distress Oxides over the page, mist lightly with water and dry thoroughly.
Lay the Scribble Squares stencils over the page and blend Carved Pumpkin Distress Oxide through them, move the stencils around until the entire page is covered.
Stamp the middle Nested Flower stamp in Versamark ink and heat emboss it in detail gold embossing powder.
Add a clipping from a magazine to the page using matte gel medium and seal the page.
Add shading around the clipping using Faber-Castell Pitt Artist pens, blended out with a Pergamano blending pen and nib and touch up the clipping itself.
Blend a dark brown pen around the edge of the page.
Add some of Leonie’s sentiment stickers.
To finish, go round the edges of the sentiment stickers with a dark brown alcohol marker.
