WOYWW 510: Blog Ranking Shenanigans

Hello and welcome to my latest contribution to What's On Your Workdesk Wednesday (WOYWW), the weekly desk link up hosted by Julia for nearly 10 years over on The Stamping Ground.  Please do pop across to see desks in various stages of tidiness from all around the world.
A wide view of my desk today (or rather yesterday) as I was working on a new card.  I had just started creating the background to sit behind the die cut aperture in the front of the card.  In the background you can see my laptop and my bit box is on the floor, peeping out from under the table.
There has been a whole load of shenanigans going on with the craft blog rankings this week.  I haven't been too badly affected, as apart for copying last Tuesday's numbers into Wednesday, moving Wednesday's numbers into Thursday and combining Thursday's and Friday's stats into one I haven't noticed much of a difference with my order in the rankings.  However, I notice that Shaz Silverwolf's blog has plummeted down the blog rankings and Barbara Gray apparently lost all her stats for the last 12 months and has had to work her way back up from near the bottom of the list.  I hope they get everything sorted for those badly affected soon.
The other side of the desk finally saw some action yesterday as Eva and I finally managed a crafty day together.  She was working on birthday cards for her family.
Talking of birthdays, a certain award winning crafty blogger is celebrating a big birthday today (not much fun when you are spending the day setting up at the NEC).  Here's the card which I sent to her: it went down really well.
#2 son arrived safely at the weekend.  He brought some gifts for us from his girlfriend.  A lovely brooch which is worn in March to celebrate the coming of Spring in Romania. It came in a beautiful gift envelope which is sure to find its way onto an art journal page this month.
Happy WOYWW everyone, I shall be round to visit after work this evening.

Morning Sarah. Lovely card. Well done. And yes, I'm sure you will find a great use for that delightful bag - the brooch is beautiful
Am I completely dense?? Carefully now how you answer that... blog rankings?
Take care. God bless.

That's a super card for Barbara, I always remember it's her Birthday around my Son's and also with the NEC show, i'm sure it has fallen on showtime more than once. Hope i'll get chance to stop and visit the stall before the weekend. What a lovely brooch and the story behind it. Enjoy that family time.
Not sure about Blog ranking's as I only tend to blog 2/3 times a week at most would be interesting to hear more.
Have a fab wek & Happy WoywW Tracey #7

Happy WOYWW. Blog rankings for this personal blog do not feature in my thoughts, but interesting to hear that there have been some ups and downs. The birthday card is gorgeous, and that brooch is really sweet (a lovely thing to wear in March). Ali x #9

That card is gorgeous! I love the colours, pattern and font - no wonder Eva liked it! I Hope you have a wonderful time with your son, his prezzies were fab. I never look at blog ratings so it's interesting what's happened to yours and Shaz's...I have noticed that my follower tally has gone down.

Hi Sarah, lovely card for Barbara. Funny how reading something sparks off an idea. Just reading 'die cut aperture' pinged an idea for a shaker card in me, lol.Just had to scribble the idea down, or I'll have forgotten it by the time I've visited another couple of blogs. Beautiful brooch, and envelope. How cool that snowdrops mean spring there too. Have a lovely week, Hugs, Shaz #4 X

Hi Sarah, lovely card - the colours are just gorgeous! I was wondering whether to admit I have no idea what you mean by blog ranking but relieved to find I'm not the only one, so I'm going to have to ask!? Also I'm wondering if I'm losing the plot a bit as I also don't know who the award winning crafty blogger is - is it someone obvious - should I know? Anyway, I'm on safer ground with the brooch, which is beautiful, and such a kind gesture. Enjoy your son's visit,

I love those colours you used on the card Sarah - and those lettering around the edges.. is that a stamp or stickers? It looks like a stamp to me and I love it! The brooch is typical for 'Eastern Europe' I think... my mum knew a Russian family back in the years and the women (grandmother, mother and daughter) all wore these kind of jewelry. I was a young kid and adored all the golden/silver/glass filligrain and flowers. I'm not into jewelry anymore but it will sure look beautiful on you! Happy woyww and a big hug from stormy Holland. Hi Sarah! I had no idea there was a blog ranking, and now I see it at the top of your page. What is it? Do you just join? How does it affect people? The card is beautiful, and how nice that you and Eva finally got a day of crafting together in!The gift is beautiful, and I can definitely see the box going onto a journal page - sometimes my daughter says I'm almost more excited about what things are wrapped in than the actual gift! LOL! Have a wonderful week, Lindart #26

I too do not know where to look for blog rankings. Better point us in the right direction Sarah. I had to change the name of my blog after the blip last week but all ok now. I love the brooch what a lovely idea. xx

Lovely card you made for BG, I admired that stencil when I first met Margaret at a Workdesk crop...I think she is the biggest Clarity fan ever, I can rely on her to have everything for me to look over!! I like the aerial view of the desk today. You’re incredibly versatile with that trees stencil too, you must be very inspired by it. Glad you had some time with Eva, its always nice to craft in company now and again isnt it. Sorry to hear about the rankings, confusion. Can’t say tbh that I’ve ever trusted them much...I did at one point find them a bit of a pressure to ‘perform’, so i binned it!

What on earth are blog rankings? Maybe I am as well being our of the know with such things.
Do I take it it is Barbara's special birthday? Can only think you have made a card for someone setting up at the NEC - must be her.
Love the gift from your son's girlfriend - what a lovely thought and what gorgeous packaging. I used a piece of card from a in that I got for my birthday on Sunday on my blog today (Junk Journal) - great minds eh!

Years ago I was involved in blog rankings but the ones that put it on shut down. I know rankings do send more people to your blog and I hope it all gets straightened out soon. Your card is really cool! And what a gorgeous broach! Have a wonderful week!
