New Baby Reflection Card

Here is one of my samples for the new Garden Stamps and stencils from Barbara Gray and Claritystamp.  There are four sets in total and I have mixed and matched two of them for this new baby card.  I used a gel press plate to create the reflection.

I started by stamping the grass from the Daisy Meadow stamp set onto 7" x 7" Clarity stencil card using Olive Archival ink.

This was masked off using one of the grass masks which come with the stamp set.  The flowers from the Stone Wall stamp set were added in Coffee Archival ink.

The grass was stamped for a second time in the same ink onto my 6" x 6" gel press printing plate and transferred onto the card to create a reflection.  This was also masked off.

A reflection of the flowers was added in the same manner using Coffee Archival ink and the masks removed.  The imperfection of the stamped reflections adds to the sense of being seen in water.

The grass areas were coloured with Pampas Artistry ink using a water brush.  I used a Pergamano blending pen and nib to get into the tiny areas.

The flowers were coloured in the same manner using Golden Turmeric Artistry inks and the leaves in Amazon Trail.  I added touches of orange to the flowers with a water colour pencil.

Next, I added one of the mini moon masks and gently brushed Tenacious Teal ink over the areas of sky and water using one of the Clarity stencil brushes.  The mask was then removed.

The image was then trimmed down along both sides and a little at the top and bottom.

I stamped Amazing News from mini Word Chains 9 & 10 in Cobalt Blue Archival ink across the moon/sun.  The piece was matted onto dark blue card leaving a narrow border.

The topper was added to a 5" x 7" white card blank towards the left hand side.

Finally, I stamped 'It's a baby boy' (from the same mini word chains) down the right hand side of the card in Cobalt Blue archival ink.
