I created this tag for the Tag Tuesday Challenge: Have A Heart. I am also entering it into the Anything BUT Cute challenge on Country View Challenges , Challenge #5 on Love 2 Create: Anything Creative/Mixed Media Goes and the Dare2BArtzy February Challenge: Love.
I started by applying the top layer of a paper towel mop up sheet to a #8 manilla tag using Distress Collage Medium, sealing, drying and trimming as usual.
I stamped the Wired Heart stamp by Claritystamp, using Versamark ink and heat embossed with the Heat It Up Gold embossing powder. When I added the second heart, I switched to Gold Tinsel embossing powder by Stampendous. I added the word 'Love' from Word Chain set 6 (also by Claritystamp) using the same method. Rather than colour inside the hearts to emphasize them, I decided to blend some of the van Gogh oil pastels (Royal Talens) around the outside of them and the edges of the tag: Scarlet at the bottom; Deep Rose (Magenta) at the top and right hand side and Vermilion above the hearts and to the left. As I felt that the word didn't stand out enough against the background, I went round all the letters using a red 05 Sakura micron pen. Finally, a suitable quote, from the Small Talk sticker book by Tim Holtz, was edged in a gold metallic pen (American Crafts) and added to the tag.
