JJJAMA Challenge 20: Blue, Turquoise, Ochre/Sand and Seaside

I did not take too long to create this page once I had found the quote.  This is for challenge 20 on Junk Journals Junkies and Mindful Art and is limited to the colours blue, turquoise, Ochre/Sand and the theme of Seaside.  For once I did very little stamping; the starfish being the only item using a stamp.

I used Reeves acrylic paint directly onto my page, starting with Yellow Ochre for the sand, dabbed on with a sponge to create a little texture.

For the  sea, I started by finger painting Phthalo Blue paint in swirls over the top left side of the page as a base.

I then used a blend of Fluorescent Blue and Cerulean Blue Hue dabbed on gently with a sponge to create the impression of foam.  At this point I brought the 'sea' over the 'sand'.

Finally I did the same again along the shore line with Titanium White paint, using yet another sponge, to add the spray of the wave on the sand.

As I didn't have a footprint stamp, I used an old punch which punches out a right foot and punched 9 footprints out of cream card.  They were given a couple of coats of yellow ochre paint and glued along the shore line.  I then added some touches of the Golden Sand embossing powder by Stampendous over the footprints and sprinkled over the beach.

As a final touch, before adding the quote 'Take nothing but memories.  Leave nothing but footprints.' using my Dymo Letratag printer, I stamped the starfish from the stamp and die collection of the same name by Spellbinders onto Kraft card using Versamark ink.  It was heat embossed using the Golden Sand embossing powder and added  into the bottom right hand corner of the page.
