I am back with another entry for the fortnightly challenge on Tag Tuesday; this time the prompt is Texture. I may not be posting this on Tuesday, but it was started then!
As usual I started with a #8 manilla tag and added Pebeo high density modelling paste through two of the Tim Holtz mini layering stencils (THMS045 Tracks and THMS088 Direction). This was allowed to dry overnight.
I then painted the whole tag with Pebeo black gesso and dried it with my heat gun.
Once dry, I lightly blended some Chocolate Bronze Metallic Gilding Polish over the tyre tracks and some Red Bronze over the hand. I also added some additional highlights with Gilding Wax in places.
The next step was to add some of the Tim Holtz tape from the Correspondence collection (the coloured tape) and the Laboratorie collection (black and white).
Next, I looked through my collection of brads and 3D embellishments and found some items which fit the theme. The 'Top Gear' bottle cap is from the masculine Bottle Capz collection by Dovecrafts, the bicycle which is attached to the tag using two small red brads is from the Boy Brad Buddies set by Hot off the Press and the small car key is from the Keys eclectic brads set by Making Memories.
Finally I chose two of the Clippings Stickers by Tim Holtz which seemed to fit the bill and glued them in place.
This is dedicated to my brother-in-law who has a long road ahead of him, but will hopefully be back in the saddle as soon as possible.
