Yupo Backgrounds and Ink Lift

It has been a while since I had a play with Yupo paper and alcohol inks, also with alcohol ink lift and stamping.  I was reminded what fun it was by Eileen Godwin in a Facebook video so decided to have another go myself.

I got myself together some Yupo card, Alcohol inks, isopropyl alcohol and a straw for blowing the ink about.

First I added isopropyl alcohol to the Yupo card with a pipette, followed by Teakwood, Latte and Mushroom alcohol inks and moved them about by blowing through the straw.

Next I added Watermelon alcohol ink and further isopropyl and continued blowing.

Finally, I added further isopropyl alcohol, Honeycomb and Latte alcohol inks and repeated the process.

Once dry, I added alcohol lift ink re-inker with a brayer and pulled a print onto super smooth card.

Cleaning my brayer onto copy paper created an interesting background too.

Using the same Yupo card, I repeated the inking process, adding in Red Pepper alcohol ink.

Once dry, I then added alcohol ink lift to the large dots and spots grunge texture stamp from Clarity Crafts to lift off some of the ink and stamp onto a piece of Clarity stencil card.

I then pulled a final print onto super smooth card in the same way as the first time.

The end result was two large prints, a piece of Yupo card with a background that can be reused if you wish, a stamped print and an interesting brayer clean off sheet.

Previous plays with Yupo can be seen HERE, HERE, HERE and HERE on my blog.

Thanks Eileen for the reminder!
