Stencilled Scene

I finally used the July 2024 Clarity New Design Club stencil in combination with one of the backgrounds I created at the Clarity Retreat - this was the result.

The background was created using Buff Titanium and Phthalo Turquoise paints added to a non-stick sheet, brayered, spritzed with water and then prints taken onto large sheets of Clarity stencil card.  I cut one I liked in half.

I then added club stencil #122 over the top, holding it in place with low tack tape.

The apertures were outlined using a black Posca pen and the bottom trimmed away.

I filled in the inner areas with the black Posca pen.

Then I went round the outside in black acrylic paint and allowed it to dry.

The stencil was replaced and Salty Ocean Distress ink brushed over the top part of the aperture.

Next, I used the Build a Scene stencils to add a scene to the background. First I added grass along the bottom in Library Green Archival ink.

Then I masked up the grass, added a strip of low tack tape and blended more Salty Ocean Distress ink to create a lake.  This time I used a foam tool to create a deeper colour.

Next I added hills in Leaf Green and Peat Moss Archival inks using the same mask set (Trees and Meadows) and a spot on sponge.

I finished by brushing Stormy Sky Distress ink through the remaining section of background.

Next I stamped one of the Clarity Quote stamps from set 2 into the background in Jet Black Archival ink masking off the bottom of the quote while inking up.

The topper was added to the front of an 8" x 8" white card blank.

I added a further quote from the same set to the card as before.

To finish, one of the birds from the Just Woodland and Birds stamp set was added in the same manner.
