WOYWW 798/18: Big Number Ahead

Only two weeks until this blog hop has been going for 800 weeks.  I can't take the credit though - the idea for WOYWW (What's On Your Workdesk Wednesday) was dreamed up and organised by Julia for 15 years.  I have been entrusted to keep things going for only 18 of those so far.  Please visit the other desks linked below - they are far more interesting than mine.  Feel free to join in yourself too by linking your blog.

I treated myself to a baren which is a tool for applying even pressure when printing.  I use it for stamping with my Misti stamp platform or when pulling a gel print as it helps keep the pressure even.  I have found it particularly useful when using large stamps.
The 1st anniversary of Dad's funeral.
I have been using Blueprint Sketch Distress Oxide with the BOW-WOB papers for this month's pages.

A belated Happy Anniversary to LLJ and G for last Wednesday - another mainstay of WOYWW, who is also to be thanked for keeping things going for so long.

I am finally back into the routine of things at school, and not quite so tired when I get in from work. T-108 work days and counting (at three days a week).

Stay safe and Happy WOYWW.  There wouldn't be a blog hop without all of you.

this month's sketch colours have been beautiful. Your tool for applying pressure is useful - I have seen people using them and wondered what they were. Happy WOYWW Helen #2

I invested in a baren too... Very useful with the stamping platform. Glad you are settling back in to the new term. Love the blue of these collages. Happy WOYWW - amazing to see that big number coming up! Susan #1

I must be the only person in the crafting world with a baren who does not use it. I do not find it at all useful - is something wrong with me?
Love the blue you have been using, it is a colour I shied away from for a long time but I love using it now and you evidently do too.
Keep crafting, Hugs, Neet 3 xx

Thanks Sarah, we had a fun day! 🥰🥰. Love your collages, working with a lot of one colour can be tricky but you pull it off well. I’m looking forward to 800, an old desker Christine Brown was asking if we were doing anything for it but I wasn’t sure.
Hugs LLJ 5 xx

Lovely collages. That blue is simply stunning, and the one for your Dad is really touching. I hope for the anniversary we will do the ATC swap again, but 800 is not the anniversary is it? I seem to recall Julia mentioning that, as the anniversary would be a different number. Years x 52 weeks? I suck at math :D
Quick scoot round before knitting WOYWW!

No, Neet, I'm the other Baren owner who doesn't use it! I can't get on with it at all, weird isn't it! Lovely to see you Sarah, your pages are great, what a wonderful shade of blue, can't even name it really. A year without your Dad. Can't believe that it's gone so fast, and so much has happened too,I really hope that all is well for you.

I have been loving the blue you've been using for this month's collages - it's gorgeous. I have a baren but only use it for gelli printing, I've never thought of using it for large stamps or the stamp platform - what a good idea, thanks for the tip!
Happy WOYWW,

A Baren eh? At first sight I thought of the implements for playing the table game of air hockey but at the same time thought that would be jolly useful for the gelli plate. Well would you know! Just added a couple to my wish list on Amazon, my gelli plate is only A5 so maybe a smaller one.... Oh gosh, and you thought your desk wasn't interesting!! I disagree. Super collages. Hugs BJ#12

Your collages are beautiful. Sending big hugs for the anniversary of your Dad’s funeral. Glad you’re getting into the swing of term. Are we doing anything for the 800th blog?
Take care and happy WOYWW

What's BOW-WOB please? I'm thinking they might be some sort of inkable papers so that your design fits with any colour scheme because I can't see ink anywhere even though you mentioned it. My fave page this week is your "chin up" page with the 'shelf' - very pleasing to the eye. It's good to get back into a routine isn't it?? Have a sunny week, Lisa-Jane #10

I have a baren, and I used to use it a lot, but not so much lately, it seems to have been replaced by a small brayer (seen on my desk this week). But I do like it for certain things. I love the tribute to your Dad this week, I still think about mine all the time, and he's been gone 23 years. Did you make the collage papers? I'm assuming you did with the blueprint distress - one of may favourites! Have a wonderful week! Lindart #17

Hello Sarah, I've not heard of a baren before or seen it in use. Glad you're pleased with it. I don't do much stamping now and certainly can't remember when I last used the stamping platform. However, I do have plans to create more stamped backgrounds for my scrapbook pages. Just as soon as I get organised. Like everyone else, it seems, I love the shade of blue you're using in your collages now. Have a lovely week. Hugs, Elizabeth x #18
