A Nautical Card

I decided on a nautical theme for this card combining the Just Gents stamps from Clarity Crafts and the Abstract Layout 1 die.

Die cut Abstract Layout 1 from the front of a 6” x 6” black card blank.

Trim a piece of Clarity stencil card to just under 6” x 6”, lay it under the front and mark the apertures in the corners.

Add Gone Sailing from the Just Gents stamp set into one of the areas in Jet Black archival ink.

Mask off round the aperture below using low tack tape and add the sailing ship into the centre in the same ink.

Extend the horizon using a black fine liner and colour the image using Faber-Castell Polychromos.

Move the masking and add the compass into the bottom aperture using the same ink as before.

Add the ship’s wheel into the top right aperture and colour both as the ship.

Add the large gull to the remaining larger aperture, draw in a post for it to stand on using the same fine liner as previously and colour round it. Continue the post into the aperture below and colour to match. Erase all the pencil markings.

To finish, add the panel behind the front of the card.
