WOYWW 619: Not Ready to Go Back

Morning and welcome to the weekly sharing of desks and linking in with WOYWW courtesy of Julia at Stamping Ground.  I am scheduling the post but will hop out of bed early to link in then return for a lie in lol.  This time next week I will be back at work so I am making the most of the ones that are left.

The desk shot is rather predictable.  I can't show you what I am actually working on as it involves samples for upcoming shows, so you will have to do with my traditional desk shot with my daily drawing sketch book.  I will be starting a new one at the beginning of May.
I managed to snag a hair appointment on Monday, hence the horrible selfie.  Most of the weekend was taken up with gardening.  #1 and #2 sons came over and the five of us spent time chopping, shredding and filling a skip with the remains of a few trees/shrubs as well as several old trailers which used to live behind the shed.  Still plenty of chopping and disposing to go but at least it is mostly clear round the shed and the garden nearest the house.  Next weekend we need to carry on and replace the rotten gate post which is causing the fence behind the shed to fall.  The shed might finally get a proper coat of paint now we can reach it too.

We will get professionals in to take down the rest of the ivy covered tree but at least we lopped most of the branches - some of which were already dead.  I won't bother adding this week's drawings here as I have an update coming out on Friday on the blog and this is already a long enough post.  Stay safe and Happy WOYWW.  I'll be along to visit later, sample making permitting.

It is good to see lots of post lockdown haircuts appearing - as you know I've had mine done too - feels so good! It looks like you worked hard in the garden at the weekend - no doubt it worked up a sweat which would have been good seeing how cold it was! Happy WOYWW Helen #2

That is not a horrible selfie Sarah, it’s you and I must congratulate you on thinking fast enough to get a hair appointment! I don’t expect you get caught out by much, too well prepared arent you....it made me smile to read that you know when the sketch book will run out. Of course you do! By golly, you worked hard in the garden, so satisfying, but gosh despite the sun, it was pretty cold here. A local friend has had a very similar tree removed, on Monday actually. We had coffee in the garden yesterday and my word, I can’t get over the difference it has made!

I did just the same, got up, uploaded and then went back to bed. Didn't sleep though but at least it was warmer than in the house with no heating on until seven.
Bet there are loads of photos of new haircuts, everyone wants one. Even my friend who has been ill has got out of her onesie for a haircut. She got back in it when she got home.
Looks like great progress on the garden, many hands and all that. We had to pay someone to chop our tree down, and only the one that was diseased. Blinking Preservation Orders on them all!

Yay, short hair again, it’s brilliant isn’t it?! You can tell it’s the simple things that we appreciate the most. That’s a lot of serious work in the garden you did, good job though! When our tree was taken down, G had a lovely couple of days with the chain saw getting it into logs!

My husband has been moaning about my hair, I didn’t want it short again, but I have to admit it’s much easier to manage. Wow! What a lot of work in the garden, my sister’s new house has a similar lot to do, but the work will be hampered by the steep incline down to a stream, which doesn’t belong them to them. How they will stop everything falling down I don’t know. Happy WOYWW and have a great week Angela #9

Good job clearing the garden - my husband's always moaning that he's battling against the neighbour's trees and foliage on both sides - we've got huge conifers growing on one side and brambles on the other invading our garden. At least you're cutting your own and not your neighbours. You could make a little secret garden next to your shed with a bench! I'm always better at imagining things than actually doing them! Neat hair cut! Enjoy the rest of the school break - I'm not looking forward to the school mornings again. Even though my son's 16, we still can't rely him getting ready on time without constant reminders - you've got 15 minutes, you've got 10 minutes, etc. I can't wait for him to move out LOL! Happy WOYWW! xx zsuzsa #24

Lovely to "see" you! The upkeep is much harder with short hair, isn't it? Mine's quite long so I can go years without a cut. Well done on the clearing - it's surprising how long it takes isn't it?! Stay safe and keep smiling, Lisa-Jane #8

oh yes we are all starting to get our hair cuts done! Mine's tomorrow. Might finally get rid of the old colour and be all over grey my nw 'natural' shade. I didn't realise it would take so long to grow out so in one way lockdown did me a favour as now it will be 'done' when I'm back in circulation. Lots of little bits of maintenance needed to be done in our garden this year as well - some of our decorative fencing needed rescuing where the posts had rotted at the base. Still, hubby is quite pleased with the distraction and it keeps him busy out in the fresh air! Have a good week, stay safe, stay well, love n hugs Cindyxx #12.

Loving the garden make-over and wondering where you'll be putting the pond!! LOL. Great selfie, glad you managed to get a snipping slot. Think my hair would be the same colour if it wasn't now pink/purple LOL. Enjoy you last few days of Easter break. Hugs and thanks for the visit BJ#20

Lovely to see you had help in clearing and lopping. The job is always more manageable when everyone pitches in and helps. Starting to see a few pics of haircuts, must be such a relief to move towards a new normal. Have a great week.

Nice "do"!
That's quite a chore clearing brush and trees. Hope the big one comes down easy!
Thanks for popping by and have a great week!

Your hair is so short, Sarah!! My hair remains in its usual state regardless of what is going on politially - permanent "lockdown chic," i.e. growing longer all the time, and having its ends trimmed off periodically by Yours Truly. It's the way I like it. It has always grown really fast and if I had a style that necessitated visits to a hairdresser I'd look a mess after a very short time! Well done with all the work in the garden. My hubby has been busy out there too, now the weather is nicer. Always a lot to do... I missed your drawings this week!

Thank you for your visit. The kitty throw is coming on fine, and I'm glad I redid the heart because I really wasn't happy with the way it was. Well done, managing to get Sky free! I thought I'd done pretty well with all my discounts! Amazon Prime has a lot of really good stuff on it - I watch a lot of documentaries and there are some excellent ones. I managed to complete all my kitchen tasks today and hope to do likewise tomorrow, and get the freezer restocked.

ooh loving the selfie, not booked in myself yet but love seeing everyone elses. Hope work this week has been going ok (love the pencil case by the way!). Thanks for visiting my desk already, bit late in returning as had to wait until I had a day off to try and catch up.
