Using stamps to Lift Ink from a Background

I thought the buttons from the Holland SHAC stamp set would create the perfect background for the windmill from the same stamp set by lifting ink from one of the Clarity Backdrop stamps.

Trim a piece of Clarity stencil card to just under 7” x 5”. Stamp the windmill from the SHAC Holland stamp set onto it in Morning Mist Versafine Clair ink and mask it up.
Add the brick wall and arch underneath in the same ink and mask that up too.
Ink up the smaller rectangle backdrop stamp in Broken China Distress Oxide and blend it out with a foam tool. Lift ink using buttons from the SHAC Holland Buttons set and add the rectangle background. Remove the masks.
Colour the windmill in shades of blue using Faber-Castell Polychromos.
Add Just for You and Happy Birthday in Sea Breeze Versafine Clair ink using the Art Nouveau Sentiments then add them again in Nocturne Versafine Clair ink, creating a drop shadow.
To finish, add a black line to the four edges and add the topper to the front of a 7” x 5” white card blank.
