Flights of Fancy: Somewhere over the Rainbow, an Art Journal Page

The theme for May 2020 Mission Inspiration is Flights of Fancy and the word prompts are Gnome, Dragons, Dream, Elves and Rainbow.  The three colours to be used this month are Earth, Moss and Sea.  As you can see, I used Elves and a rainbow on my page, working in my leather bound journal with handmade paper pages.

Add transparent gesso to a double page of handmade paper and dry thoroughly. Add Forest Moss Distress paint along the bottom of the page.
Add Cerulean Blue Hue acrylic paint mixed with a little sand acrylic paint to the top of the pages. Drag down the pages with a damp wet wipe.
Mix Sand paint to Red Ochre to make an earth tone and add along the space between the other colours. Pounce with a finger. Dry thoroughly.
Stamp the Toadstool Outline stamp from Clarity on the left hand page in Black Soot archival ink.
Stamp it for a second time onto book paper, fussy cut and add to the page, seal with matte medium and dry thoroughly.
Colour the toadstool with Faber-Castell big brush markers, blended out with a Pergamano blending pen and nibs.
Add some of the Wee Grasses along the bottom of the pages in Fern Green and Peat Moss archival inks. Add one or two in Ground Espresso archival ink.
Add three Wee Elves in Black Soot archival ink.
Cut a rainbow shape from a second piece of book paper and add it to the right hand page in the same manner as the first.
Colour the rainbow with Big Brush markers as before.
Extend the colours towards the ground as if they are dripping.
To finish, add a quote, using the Tall Letterbox Infill Alphabet stamp set from Clarity, in Black Soot archival ink.
