Monogrammed Candles Gift

I used the two of the Clarity floral alphabet stamps to monogram two candles.  They fitted perfectly into a gift basket for my Mum's birthday today.

I started by stamping my mum's initials onto white tissue paper.  I used Onyx Black Versafine ink and stamped onto the shiny side.  I trimmed round the letters.
Next, I added colour to the images using water colour pencils.  I coloured on both sides of the tissue paper to intensify the colours and kept to a limited colour palette.
I cut two pieces of wax paper slightly wider and longer than the candle. The tissue paper was added round the candle shiny side outwards. The wax paper was then wrapped tightly over the top with the wax side inwards. Using a heat gun and starting at one end of the tissue paper I gently heated the wax paper until the tissue paper sank into the candle, moving the heat gun around the image and heating evenly until all the tissue paper has been sealed to the candle. I then gently peeled back the wax paper.
It only remained to add the candles to a basket that had previously contained cosmetics.
