SImple Masking for a Mixed Impressions Texture Background

The new simple shape masks from Claritystamp make creating backgrounds easy.  Especially in combination with the new Mixed Impressions Texture stamps.  Here I used the diamond mask and the Rusted Metal Grunge stamps.
Trim a piece of 7” x 7” Clarity stencil card to 6.75” x 6.75”. Add the outer part of the diamond mask to the card towards the left.
Ink up the largest of the three smaller Rusted Metal Grunge stamps in Rusty Hinge Oxide and stamp through the aperture. Ink up the stamp and press down onto the page without using an acrylic block, applying pressure gently over the back of the stamp to ensure an even print. Remove the mask.
Add the diamond inner mask over the stamped area.
Keeping the A5 Rusted Metal Grunge stamp on the acetate sheet, add Wild Honey, Fossilized Amber, Tea Dye and Walnut Stain Oxides using foam tools. Mist the stamp lightly with water and lay the stamp over the background, pressing down gently over the back of the acetate to ensure an even coverage.
Repeat until the whole background has been covered.
Add further Walnut Stain Oxide first and second generation stamping over the background using the smallest Rusted Metal stamp held in the hand.
To finish the background stamping, use the middle sized stamp from the smaller set, held in the hand, to add Brushed Corduroy Oxide in both first and second generation stamping.
Brush Rusty Hinge Distress ink off the mask and over the background using a Clarity stencil brush. Use a Spot-On Sponge and Walnut Stain Distress ink to emphasize around the diamond and the edges of the card. Remove the mask.
Stamp both the You Hung the Moon stamps in Sepia Versafine ink and heat emboss with detail clear embossing powder.
Ground the step ladder by using a piece of copy paper and adding Walnut Stain distress ink below with the same Spot-On Sponge.
Colour the Lettering with a Rusty Hinge Distress marker and add a squiggly line around the inside of the diamond.
Add the piece to the front of a 7” x 7” black card blank.
To finish, add one of Barbara’s word stickers.
