WOYWW 544: Back into Routine Already!

Sadly I'm back to writing this post on a Tuesday afternoon ready for joining in with WOYWW on a Wednesday morning.  The half term simply flew by.  I spent a happy week in my craft room, finished off with Friday at the NEC (see HERE for more).
My desk shows the start of a sample for a show with Maria next Wednesday, sorry I can't show you more yet, but I will try to remember to include a picture of the finished piece next week.

As you can see, I finished the Advent book that I started at a workshop with Maria Moorhouse in time to give to #2 son and his girlfriend.  They hosted a spectacular family firework party at their house last Saturday which we all attended.  He was super safety conscious and had even purchased the electronics necessary to set the fireworks off remotely.  The children in the houses round about enjoyed it too, looking through the bedroom windows.

Happy WOYWW everyone, I'll be round to visit in the morning as I will be at work late today (meeting night).

Sounds as if a good time was had by all at the firework party. I didn't know you could buy an electronic gadget to set them off - what a sensible idea.
Lovely advent book - what a good idea.

The advent book is fabulous. We hold a tiny little fireworks display in our garden each year, with me lighting the fireworks at arms length then legging it to safety - the electronic device sounds very sensible for bigger displays. Have a lovely week. With love & God Bless, Caro x (#14)

I adore fireworks!! The party sounds great and I didn't know you could buy a special whatsit to ignite them. Love the advent calendar, you can't get much more Christmassy than that!

Love the advent book. Glad you enjoyed the fireworks...I'm sorry to say I will be really glad when they are all done for this year as our little Milly gets rather stressed with them.

I was thinking of making one of those advent books too - it was in one of the magazines this month - can't remember which. It has little boxes stuck on the inside of the cover, doesn't it? It looks lovely! Oh my, didn't half term fly by? My son was so sad on Sunday night, but hey, the Christmas break is just around the corner, so just hang in there! The fireworks display sounds lovely. Usually, we see the one in the town a couple of miles away, so we don't even need to leave the comfort of our house LOL. Have a lovely week, Sarah! xx zsuzsa #15

I too, love the Advent Book!

I just read your post about the NEC. How fun! Wish there was something similar here, fairly close, to me. Really helps the build up and inspiration to the holidays!

Happy Wednesday!

Hi ya Sarah, love the idea of the advent book lovely design. Sounds like you had a good time at your Son's, I remember as a child peeping through the windows seeing the display from the local park. Hope you had a good spend up at the NEC, me on the other hand brought nothing much at all.

Great job on the advent book - bet your son and his gal were really pleased with it. Will you ever make another?! Lovely to be invited to your children’s places for fun and hospitality. Glad it was Saturday and not yesterday, it rained cats and dogs here last night!

Love the advent book. Not really in favour of fireworks as I have animals but fortunately we don't celebrate Bonfire night here in Spain, and you can't purchase fireworks here so easily you have to go to a special centre and get a licence. Have a good week don't work too hard!! Ani#1
