WOYWW 545: Wet, Wet, Wet

I do hope everyone is safe from the awful floods that have hit the UK during the last week.
I suddenly realised yesterday that I had very few finished Christmas cards and decided to complete a few that I had started at a workshop (I always spend more time chatting than crafting lol).  The ones at the back are ones I made myself.
Hubby's back operation went well on Monday, however his discharge was a different kettle of fish.  I had a text off him to say he needed an X-ray before being discharged and then another one shortly afterwards to say that the hospital had been flooded and there was no electricity.  At the time of writing this yesterday afternoon, I still don't know what is happening, just that his ward may be evacuated.
The sneak peek top right is the card I was working on last week.  Hopefully it will be shown on Hochanda at 12pm or 4pm today.  If not, check back on Friday as I shall be sharing the step by step then.  Happy WOYWW (What's On Your Workdesk Wednesday) everyone.  Further details and desks can be found on The Stamping Ground where we link up with Julia each week.
UPDATE Hubby home from hospital, sore but walking under his own steam.

I hope hubby gets allowed home soon, being stuck un-necessarily in hospital must be no fun. Hope you get cracking with your Christmas cards soon - sorry to be so smug! I have never finished this early (must get the middles done. lol) Helen #3

Glad to read Hubby is now home Sarah, what a worry on all levels. Can you imagine how patients felts that were bed bound. Awful about the floods, if only we could move all that rain to douse the forest fires happening around the world.
I love those baubles stamps.. I believe I will have them in my collection at some point. I'm hoping to get a free weekend and an hour or two for me to get my Christmas cards in order. Happy WoywW Tracey #5 xx

Morning Sarah. What a week! Glad the op went well for your hubby, and that now he is safely back home. Trust he will continue to recover in less mayhem than at the hospital. Was that the hospital where you first met Chris? Mrs D? Hope your card gets shown!! - the sneak peeps look good - and the finished ones look great - I like the robin one best...
Take care. God bless.

I'm pleased he's home and hope his recovery is quick...that's awful about the hospital flooding though, adds extra pressure they don't need. Lovely stamps and images btw!

Do hope the operation has been successful Sarah - and that the hubster is soon walking well.
A lovely array of cards for us to look at today - had to smile at how you natter ore than o at workshops. That sums me up. Went to my first club in ages o Saturday and did one circle on a card - not even anything inside the circle. Spent too much time talking and then my back started hurting and I had to go home.
Now learning to pace myself with the "C" cards - how many have you done?
Hugs, Neet 10 xx

I think I'm finished with Christmas cards but I usually forget someone so I may have to do a few more. Your cards are so pretty and I love the pretty baubles ones. Hope your husband gets to be at home soon!

Glad hubby's home. I haven't even started my Christmas cards this year. Last year I'd got them all done and dusted in February!

In my post today I've used some of the Mulberry paper you sent me. Diolch yn fawr.

Ignore my previous comment - I thought I'd clicked on Shaz's blog. I think I need a cup of tea and some lunch...

Ooh your cards are gorgeous - the bauble stamp is a stunner adn I love the shading on it too. How worrying about the floods, it sounds like your hubby had a bit of an adventure at hospital but I'm glad he's home now and I hope he makes a speedy recovery.
Have a good week,

Good news about your husband, Sarah. He'll recover so much quicker now he's home. The floods have been so bad - my heart goes out to everyone suffering right now. Good luck with catching up with making C cards. If I didn't make them throughout the year, I'd never have enough done. Hugs, Elizabeth x #21

So glad hubby is home safely - praying for a swift and full recovery. Love your shoe and boot cards! Although much of Sheffield and Rotherham were hit by the floods we live at the top of a hill so were fortunately safe. Happy WOYWW. I hope you have a lovely week. with love & God Bless, Caro x (#12)

Thank goodness he's back home - how worrying not getting any news! Lucky his operation didn't happen during the power outage. Good that you managed to get some cards done - in addition to your DT work. I really don't know where you find the time to do all this! Luckily our house is not at risk of flooding, but there have been some road closures around us. Hope you manage to stay dry too! Happy WOYWW! xx zsuzsa #20

I've been watching the news and people are feeling forgotten and angry about how slow it has been for the government to take action to help them. Thank goodness my parents are okay but we have had problems ringing the suppliers for medical stuff my mother needs as the phones are all down in Rotherham where the suppliers are based but we've managed to sort it. I feel sorry for the elderly who have no-one to help them, it must be very scary for them. However less of that, wishing you a lovely creative week and a happy woyww x16x

Glad to read your husband made it home well, and you are doing alright. Love to see your art again and - oh yes, Christmas cards! I haven't thought of that until now, shall I create/send cards this year? If so, I better start coming up with an idea (something 'fast and furious') and start creating, ha! But first, I want to make the 'woyww' round 'cause it has been too long since I visited you (and the others) It's good to be back and I hope to fit in my 'desk' more often from now on. Enjoy your week/weekend Sarah! Hug from Holland, Marit #4
