Birds in a Cherry Tree by Moonlight

I didn't spot all the birds and their tails at first in this stencil, however I had fun building up the layers of colour.

Attach the Birds in a Cherry Tree stencil to a piece of 7” x 7” Clarity stencil card using a piece of masking tape to create a hinge at the top. Brush Moon Crater Artistry ink through the stencil around the bird at the top of the tree and the two other birds.
Add the large full moon mask over the bird at the top of the tree and mask off the second and third bird.
Replace the stencil and pounce Chipped Sapphire Oxide through the stencil. Remove the moon mask and the masking on the second and third birds and brush ink off the stencil through the aperture to deepen the colour of the birds and moon.
Mix Iced Spruce Distress ink and Pumice Stone Oxide together with a water brush and paint the tree trunk and branches. It was at this point that I spotted the tails of the other two birds and added white watercolour pencil to bring them out.
Add yellow watercolour pencil over the moon.
Colour the cherries with a red sparkle pen.
Add eyes to the birds and one or two highlights to the tree trunk and branches using a black water colour pencil
Trim the card back to 6.25” x 6.25”. Mat onto a piece of red sparkly card (6.5” x 6.5”) and add to the front of a 7” x 7” white card blank.
To finish, add one of the celebrations word stickers.
