Making a Frame out of Small Stamps

Just because stamps are small doesn't mean that you can't work on a larger card.  Here I used one stamp to create a large frame.

Attach the oval framer stencil to a piece of 7” x 7” stencil card using masking tape to create a hinge at the top. Brush Aged Mahogany Distress ink through the aperture using a Clarity stencil brush.

Add a little Ground Espresso Distress ink around the edge of the oval in the same manner. Remove the stencil.

Stamp the cupcake from the Kitchen stamp set along the edge of the inked area using Ground Espresso Archival ink. Stamp at 12, 3, 6 and 9 o’clock to start then at an equal distance between stamping until a complete frame has been formed.

Colour the images using Ground Espresso and Aged Mahogany Distress inks lifted off a blending mat with a water brush.

Add Thank (Word Chain 18) –s (Word Chain 17) You’re (Word Chain 20) so (Word Chain 18) Sweet (Word Chain Alphabet) and the heart from the Kitchen stamp set into the oval background using Ground Espresso Distress Archival ink.

Lay the largest oval picot die over the frame and draw round the outer edge with a pencil. Cut out the topper following the pencil line. Mat onto a piece of Toffee Apple designer paper trimmed to 14.8cm x 17.2cm. To finish, trim the width of a 7” x 7” white card blank to 15.5cm and add the topper to the card.
