Acrylic Bookmark

Working on acrylic isn't always easy.  I learnt a great deal working on this bookmark.  Even though it is possible to stamp and heat emboss on acrylic I think I prefer using a permanent ink instead.  Maria is on Hochanda at 9am, 1pm and 5pm today with more demos and ideas.

Remove the protective cover on one side of the bookmark. Stamp the bare branch onto the bottom in black Versafine ink and heat emboss in clear powder.
Add Love and Best Wishes in the same manner.
Add the small star branch too.
Add individual open stars to the ends of some of the bare branches in the same ink as before and finish embossing. Allow to cool.
Lay the bookmark face down on a paper towel to protect the stamping. Remove the other protective cover. Add Botanical, Lettuce and Citrus alcohol inks on a felt pad with a little blending solution all over the back.
Paint Light Gold metallic acrylic paint onto the back of the stars. Set aside and allow to dry thoroughly.
Go over the embossing on the front with a black Posca pen for emphasis.
Cut a piece of stencil card to 4.8Cm x 21.1cm to match the size of the bookmark. Punch a small hole to match the acrylic.
Stamp the large bare branch, the sentiment and small stars to match the acrylic leaving space to add a handwritten message.
Colour the stars using a gold sparkle pen.
Lay the two stamped pieces back to back. Before sliding them into a Pergamano bookmark sleeve add narrow ribbon in different shades of green to match the alcohol ink background.
