A Classy 8th Birthday Card

This is the card which I made for my great niece's 8th birthday earlier this week.  She is growing into a sophisticated young lady so I wanted to make her something elegant.  There is a clue to her name on the card.
I started with a piece of kraft card (20cm x 13.8cm).  I laid the Clarity New Design Die Club die (#7) in the centre at the top and cut the aperture.
Happy (Word Chain 2) 8th (Word Chain numbers) and Birthday (Word Chain 3) were added at the bottom in Ground Espresso Distress Archival ink.
I used the fern from the hummingbird stamp set (no longer available) and stamped it twice around the frame in Versamark ink.  It was heat embossed using Aged Ivory embossing enamel.

This was matted onto dark brown card (20.5cm x 14.3cm).
To provide balance, I die cut the aperture again and snipped three of the large leaves out.  These were heat embossed with Versamark ink and Aged Ivory to match the ferns.
They were added to the aperture and below.
To finish, I added the topper to an A5 ivory card blank.
Fern liked her card!
