Layers on Layers: A Birthday Card

This is the card I made using the left over ink off the stencils that I used for yesterday's art journal page (see HERE).  Although Leonie's stamps are large, they can still be used for smaller projects.
Sandwich the two largest nested flower scribble stencils (covered with Distress Oxide sprays in Tumbled Glass, Mermaid Lagoon and Faded Jeans) between two pieces of 7” x 7” stencil card. Run through an embossing machine to transfer the ink.

Add sections of the top layer of paper towels (from underneath the stencils as they were spritzed) to one of the pieces using matte gel medium and dry thoroughly.

Add stamping using the stamps in the matching stamp set. Stamp in Versamark ink and heat emboss with detail silver powder.
Cut a 6cm strip from one side of the piece and a 0.25cm sliver from a piece off the opposite edge.
Add the strips to the front of a white 7” x 7” card blank.
Add Happy Birthday from the Art Nouveau Sentiment set in Mermaid Lagoon Archival ink, stamping between the strips.
To finish, edge one of Leonie’s sentiment stickers in Mermaid Lagoon Archival ink and add it to the card.

another fantastic card, I wish I could think of these ideas. Again it would look good in any colour scheme & would suit all occasions. Thanks for sharing. Have a great weekend
