I worked on a #8 manilla tag for the November challenge over on Tag It Tuesday. Four prompts are given each month and at least two have to be used. This month the prompts were: 1 Paste through a stencil; 2 Paint with your fingers; 3 Write random words; 4 Numbers. As you will see, I used three of the prompts.
I started by gluing a piece of copy paper to a #8 manilla tag which had been used to mop up my blending mat after a brayer session. It was sealed with matte medium, dried and trimmed.
Next, I followed prompt 1 by masking off an area of the Claritystamp Hearts stencil with tape, dragging Copper Dreamweaver embossing paste through the remaining apertures. I left the paste to dry for a few hours before stamping the Claritystamp numbers onto the tag with Versamark ink, heat embossing them in Copper EP. (Prompt 4)
I had the perfect quote in mind to go with the hearts and numbers, so printed it off using my Dymo Letratag onto clear plastic so as not to obscure the background. I left out random words. The missing words from the quote were hand written using a fine black Posca pen, fulfilling prompt 3. I didn't attempt prompt 2, much as I enjoy getting paint on my fingers, as I felt it might not work with the tag as it was. I now have a book mark ready as an extra Valentine's gift next year lol.
