I haven't made that many Christmas cards yet, so I bit the bullet and added another one to my stash. I really enjoyed working with the combination of stencil inner, outer and mask to create a scene within a bauble.
I cut a piece of card to 13.5cm x 13.5cm, then added the bauble stencil inner using repositionable tape plus the hills & mountains mask (both from Claritystamp).
I blended Chipped Sapphire Distress Oxide over the top section, spritzed it lightly with water and dabbed it with a paper towel to create a night sky. Once the mask had been removed but with the stencil inner still in place, I lightly went over the bottom of the topper with dark grey ink which was left on my stencil brush. Next, I added the outer stencil to the topper, replaced the mountain mask and blended Ocean Reef Artistry ink lightly over the top section of the bauble using another stencil brush. The bottom half of the bauble was inked by adding some Moon Crater ink to the same stencil brush and lightly brushing in one direction. The stencil outer was replaced and the fir tree stamp from the Wee Folk 7 set stamped multiple times in Cobalt Blue Archival ink. I used a stamp platform and stamped some of the images more often than others to graduate the colour intensity. The stencil was then removed. The same tree stamp was used along the bottom right of the topper, this time stamped in Watering Can and Shadow Grey Archival inks. The teeny weenie star from the Candle Outline stamp set from Claritystamp was added to the night sky in Versamark ink and heat embossed in detail silver EP. The words 'Peace On Earth' from Mini Word Chains 13 & 14 were added within the bauble using the same process. To balance out the bauble still further, I used my dark grey/black ink stencil brush across the top of the bauble with the outer in place, once again brushing in one direction only. The topper was matted onto a piece of silver card leaving a very narrow border, then onto a piece of dark blue pearlescent card cut to 14.1cm x 14.1cm. This was then added to a 6" x 6" white card blank.
