This was one of the quickest art journal pages I have completed in a while. The prompt for week 40 at Art Journal Prompts was Collage, and as I have a stash of magazine clippings, I started there. Having chosen some which shared a similar colour scheme of green and grey, I found some background papers which would go with them and the rest was quick and easy.
Having cut a piece of mixed media card to 18.5cm x 19.5cm I chose five partially used pages from the 8" x 8" paper pack (Chelsea Green Capsule Collection by Papermania), tore the edges and arranged them on the page. Once happy with the layout, I glued and sealed them in place with Distress Collage Medium, then dried and trimmed the page.
Next it was time to arrange and glue the images and sentiment that I had chosen into place. Before gluing them down, I tore or distressed all the edges with my Tim Holtz Distress Tool and added some Iced Spruce distress ink around the edges of the sentiment. Once sealed and completely dry, I blended Earth Green and Cold Grey III Big Brush Markers around all the edges of the collaged elements.
