Art Journal Prompts Week 8: Spread Your WIngs

I only have one more back prompt to complete now and I will be fully caught up with the Art Journal Prompts for 2017 so far.  This page was created to fit the prompt 'Spread Your Wings'.

Once again, I used a mop up sheet from a previous journal page to create a quick background.  Having covered my kraft card journal page with white gesso and allowed it to dry, I both added the mop up page and sealed it with distress collage medium before drying and trimming round.

I then added the boy and birds stamp from the Fly Away stamp set by Claritystamp using Cobalt archival ink.

I was originally going to add a longer quote 'Until you spread your wings, you will have no idea how far you can fly.'  I used the Claritystamp Word Chain Alphabet, Versamark ink and detail white embossing powder to heat emboss the prompt.  Each letter was then given a shadow using the #70 Spectrum Noir pencil from the Marine set.
It wasn't until I had added the rooftops (using the Claritystamp mask of the same name) in Cobalt archival ink, that I decided to leave the page as it was instead of adding the rest of the quote using my Dymo Letratag.
