WOYWW 841/61: Last Two Days

Welcome to the weekly sharing of desks which is WOYWW (What's On Your Workdesk Wednesday?), the brainchild of Julia, who kindly entrusted it to me to continue after the first 15 years of togetherness.  Please feel free to link up your desk and visit others' - we are a friendly bunch.

My desk shows some of my more recent projects with some new stamps that arrived last week and a lovely card celebrating my retirement from Jo (Twiglet), Annie (Wipso) and Maxine (Tilly Tea Dance) which arrived in the post yesterday.  Thank you very much.
A close up of the card.

I am slowly catching up with my #dailyart2025 and am now just a week behind.

My last lesson is this morning as I will be at Alton Towers on Friday with KS3 (will not be going on any rides).  Celebration assembly for Y8 is this afternoon.  I can't believe that this time next week I will have retired - the last few weeks have simply flown past.  I am not needing to take as many painkillers as I was last week for my arm but I am still trying to take things easy as far as possible.  Stay safe and Happy WOYWW.

Excited for you! Hope the arm is better and you can fully enjoy retirement. Love the cards. The color splotch one is really cool, love the stamped sentiment on that. And nice to see your sketches again. A week behind isn’t bad. Once upon a time I’d go on ALL the rides, but now? Not so much….
Happy WOYWW

Oh my goodness retirement is so close now, I'm feeling the excitement. The cards are super, have you have some watercolours out perchance, love the backgrounds? Lovely retirement card from the ladies, rather envious of all their sewing machine stitches. Only a week behind is not much at all, you'll soon catch up. I'm 6 months behind in my scrapping LOL! Glad to hear the arm is slowly getting better and that you can still participate in all the school activities this week. Here's to a wonderful retirement. Hugs Bj#7

It’s the next chapter of your life isn’t it? And one that you’ll make the most of, it’s wonderful not having the pressure of work, it really does change your outlook on life and knowing you, you’ll soon be filling up your time with other things! Hope the next two days are filled with fun. I’m glad your arm is easing, it’s awful when nagging pain doesn’t go away.
Hugs LLJ 4 xx

Hi Sarah, not long now. I'd like to say you'll have loads of time to do your daily drawings but I think you'll be surprised how quickly the time goes when you're retired. Very sensible not to go on the rides, after all we're there to look after the children. I never went on the rides and on one occasionfound myself having to look after another member of staff that insisted on joining the children on the rides and was then sick all the way home! Wishing you a very happy last few days before your new life begins. Hugs Angela x10x

Gollleeee Sarah, what an achievement, I hope your last couple of days are without incident and next week...well, just not having marking and planning to structure will remind you that it's not a holiday! So sorry that your arm isn't fully 'back', nerves do not heal on a timescale, it's painful and frustrating. I hope you're managing to sleep fully.

Glad to hear your shoulder is feeling better than last week and wow yes the countdown to your retirement has flown by. Can't believe it's now only a couple of days away. Have fun at Alton Towers and in turning off your morning alarm clock :D (oh and brilliant to see you're able to start catching up on your daily art too) xxxxxxx

Hi Sarah, I'm so pleased that your shoulder pain is easing now. Steering clear of the rides at Alton seems a very good idea to me. I can heartily recommend retirement. After a period of adjustment, I'm sure you are going to enjoy having so much time to do with what you want. The card Jo, Annie and Maxine sent you is lovely. I'm looking forward to hearing how you are enjoying retirement. Have a great week. Elizabeth x #15
