Tropical Birds on a Wire and in the Trees

For my final sample using this fabulous die set, I used both aperture dies and all the birds once more.

Trim a piece of dark green card to 7.5” x 7.5” and a piece of black card to 7.75” x 7.75”.

Die cut the leaf layer from the Two-Way Overlay Woodland Aperture with Five Birds die set twice from the green card.

Lay the green card over the black card to line up the dies and cut the tree layer twice from the black card.

Mat and layer the toppers.

Die cut a bird from Toscana designer card twice and a second bird once and add them to the branches of the trees.

Working directly onto the front of an 8” x 8” white card blank. Mask off the top and the two sides. Using the clouds mask from the Build a Scene Hills and Cloud mask add clouds using Stormy Sky Distress ink and a Clarity stencil brush. Gradually move the mask down the card and continue adding ink until the background to the die cut apertures is complete. Remove the masking.

Add the topper to the front of the card. Add one of Barbara’s words stickers too.

Add wires either side of the sticker using a black Posca pen.

To finish, die cut the remaining birds from the same card as before and add them to the ‘wires’.
