WOYWW 705: Blind as A Bat

Welcome to my first December link up with WOYWW c/o the lovely Julia at Stamping Ground.

My desk shows a stencil I was working with yesterday ready for my blog post on Christmas Eve (I like to get ahead with my projects lol).

As you can see my latest journal pages have taken on a combination vintage/Christmas/Winter theme as I try to get into the festive spirit.
I am no longer driving in the dark thanks to the cataract in my left eye.  At the opticians on Saturday they were amazed at how much it has developed in the seven months since my last appointment.  I am being referred for surgery urgently and hope to be seen in 4-6 weeks.  Apparently I am developing a cataract in my right eye also so will be referred for that too - but the left takes priority.  I can't wait, as using a computer is getting more difficult and I often have to sit really close to the screen as my varifocals are not much good.
Hubby is giving me lifts into work and a colleague is dropping me off afterwards very kindly.

Meeting after school this evening so may not visit until the morning. Stay safe and Happy WOYWW.

So very sorry to hear about the eye problem. Hope you get it/them done quickly.
In the meantime am amazed at how much you blog, trawled through to get to here, but I do like what you are doing and will be back to read again.
Hugs, Neet xx
ps an apology? No chance she means all she says and it boils down to jealousy. x

Sorry to hear that Sarah but I'm sure it will be great when it's sorted. At least you've managed some journal pages but just be careful at work we don't want any accidents before Christmas. Have a good woyww and happy crafting, Angela x11x

Having your cataracts done will transform your life! Aren’t we lucky to be living in an age when these ops are routine now, all the people I know who’ve had the op have amazing eyesight afterwards, so the very best of luck!

Well I’m glad to hear that you’re being referred urgently, I hope it all happens as fast as possible. Not least because the driving thing is such a loss of independence! The Christmas stocking stencil is lovely, and although you are working in advance, I can’t pretend to be surprised, to be honest, I would expect nothing less!! It will be a fascinating flick through of your years journals won’t it..never mind the art and the images etc…we’ll be able to tell the season, weather, perhaps even your mood!

Sorry to hear about the eye cataracts. I hope you don’t have to wait long. I am glad you like my collages. I think I would prefer 6 x 6, but I bought several at a £1 each when reduced at Tesco. Initially I had in mind giving one each to the grandchildren, but they are not interested in anything but IPads! I don’t want to cut up my 12 x 12 papers for the background because I would only get one out of each sheet - thought that would be a good way of using them up🤣. Happy WOYWW. Angela #12

Really sorry to hear about your eyes and hope you get lucky in getting it sorted very soon. It’s awful to lose your independence like that but I’m glad you have the support of family and friends to get you to work.
Hugs,

So sorry about your cataracts- I had mine done either side of lockdown in 2020. I hope you get yours done soon. You’ll need reading glasses after.
I love your Xmas stocking and the rest of your journal pages.
Take care and happy WOYWW

love the vintage-y images. Holding your sight in the light- no pun intended. Last visit they told me I have signs of macular disease. Yikes!

All the will in the world to visit on Wednesday and bombed out yet again, so sorry....better late than never though - I say.

I have you to thank for the inspiration for my son's birthday card. My friend loves it too and has requested a purple one for her birthday in April - will I remember by then I wonder???? She gave me the number dies and it was the first time I'd used them.

Loving the stocking stencil, lots of different parts to it. Super pages too.

So sorry to hear about the eyes, think I have them starting in my eyes too. One guy at dancing has just had his done and is amazed at the distance clarity now. Hope you hear soon about yours.
