A New Baby Card using Shrink Plastic

A friend and former colleague had her second baby recently.  This is the card I made for her and the rest of the family.  I love these stamps and shrink plastic seemed the way to go to fit them all on the same card in the appropriate size to represent Mum, Dad, big sister and the new baby.
Stamp the individual owl from the Wise Owls stamp set onto frosted shrink plastic (on the rough side) in Majestic Blue Versafine ink.
Colour on the same side with water colour pencils without blending out with water.  Fussy cut the owl.
Shrink the owl using a heat gun and flatten with an acrylic block.
Trim a piece of Clarity stencil card to 14cm x 14cm.  Stamp the owl trio from the same set in Onyx Black Versafine ink.
Colour the image with water colour pencils, this time blended out with a water colour brush pen.
Using the Clarity Alphabet and number word chain letters add Welcome Nicholas in Majestic Blue Versafine ink.
Mat this onto a piece of dark blue glitter card (14.5cm x 14.5) and add it to the front of a 15cm x 15cm white card blank.
To finish, add the new arrival to the rest of the family using acrylic glue on the smooth side of the shrink plastic.

Little Dorrit does... said...

Hi Sarah.
I'm doing belated WOYWW visits, but this post caught my eye. I bought some shrink plastic sheets before Christmas (to make little leaf charms for knitted hedgehogs, as you do) but haven't got round to using them yet. So I now I need to thank you twice - for your kind words yesterday and for these very helpful instructions!
