WOYWW 539: Flat Out then Flat

Welcome to my weekly contribution to What's On Your Workdesk Wednesday (WOYWW) c/o our illustrious leader Julia at The Stamping Ground.  Many apologies for my lack of desk visiting last week. On Thursday, when I usually visit, I was flat out completing samples for an up coming show with Barbara Gray.  On Friday Eva and I headed straight up to Leyburn after work, ready for the Clarity Open Day on Saturday (and a chance to hand deliver the samples).  By the time we had driven back on Saturday evening, I was far too flat to do much more than flop and catch up with the washing on Sunday.  Yesterday I spent nearly all day at various medical appointments (not all mine) so barely had time.
My desk today shows my total restraint at the Open Day as I spent far more time catching up with people and watching demos than actually shopping.  I couldn't resist getting these paper pads for my own stash however.
My guests on the other side of the desk (in Leyburn) this week are Jane Telford and Marley. Hi Marley!  Jane kindly gave Marley her own special make and take session as she had been given a Groovi starter kit and wanted to try it out.  She is a natural and maybe one day will be joining in with WOYWW herself.
Still no progress with the shed.  I am hoping we may get a week of decent weather over half term in a few weeks and then I will probably try and finish it off myself.  This week I will make the effort to visit everyone, but not until tomorrow as I am working today.  Happy WOWYW everyone.

It appears that many of us are dealing with the same, i'm feeling that flat out feeling too and I was expecting to see your shed finished I must admit. The weather has been horrid and many jobs that need doing have had to be juggled because of it.. Fingers crossed for a drier day today. You should have a paint party to help you finish the shed, if I wasn't up to my eye balls in it here i'd come over & help! WoywW Hugs Tracey xx

You're too busy, Sarah! I get exhausted just reading about what you get up to LOL! I bet you like it busy though! I hope you can get your shed finished before the winter. Ours would need another coat of paint, but I'm not sure we'll get around to it. It would be nice to welcome a new WOYWW-er! Have a lovely week! zsuzsa #16

Not surprised you felt flat after all that flat out! Like your paper choices, I just said on FB that Clarity really do some lovely papers don’t they, one day when my paper buying freeze is lifted, I shall make my way there and get myself into all sorts of paper trouble!!

Glad you had a good social meeting in Leyburn sounds like my kind of show visit as I always buy less than I think and natter more than I think. Just realised my friends G&V live in Leyburn.
Lovely to meet a young crafter who might become a young blogger one day. Let's hope she does.
Good luck with the shed - when the right day comes along.
Hugs, Neet 2 xx

The meeting in Leyburn sounds as if it was fun, Sarah. Is that Leyburn in N. Yorks? My best friend from school used to live in the Dales and we had some fantastic holidays up there. We always used to go to Leyburn so I could stock up on the best fruit cake in the world, that was sold at the...... butchers!!! Lol! They did a mean ginger cake too... Also we used to go to the Leyburn Teapottery and I still have a couple of wacky teapots from there! It was a really fun place.

We all have to stand back and let the famous British weather do its thing, don't we. Don't worry, your shed will be finished before you know it. We all look forward to seeing it.

Thank you for your lovely comment, and I'm glad you enjoyed your virtual visit to our local craft show! It was a wow of a day. No time yet to try out my new stash. It's been a busy week and over the weekend I got a cold from somewhere or other and have been quite under the weather. Not feeling like doing much else, I've made great progress on the slippers, and the embroidery on the main part on both slippers is now virtually complete, with just the tops to do. I'm really pleased with how they are turning out!

Ruby says thanks for the get well wishes - she is fine now, after a few days of having her meals in two halves. We don't know what it was, but perhaps it was some sort of tummy bug, but she showed no other signs of being unwell. Eating back to normal again now.

Seven - that's a LOT of kitties! I assume they aren't all in the same house? I thought we had a lot when we had 4, when we were first married (family merger - my hubby had 2 and I had 1, and then we adopted another one). We think 2 is about right - ours are quite a handful at times lol lol! (Wouldn't trade them for the world, though.)

Happy belated WOYWW,
