Brushos on a Gel Plate

I used a technique that was new to me for the background of this card.
Spread Sailboat Blue Adirondack ink over the 6” x 6” gel press plate with a brayer. Mix Lime Green, Cobalt Blue and Orange Brushos with water in a palette, pick up each colour with a fan brush and sprinkle over the gel plate (cleaning the brush in between). Take a print on a piece of 7” x 7” Clarity stencil card.
Stamp the Cherry Green bird stamp in Versamark ink and heat emboss with gold embossing powder.
Colour the bird with orange and gold mica paints painted with one of the large water brushes.
Go round the bird with a white watercolour pencil to help it stand out even more.
Trim the print back to 14.8cm x 14.8cm. Mat it onto a piece of gold card, leaving a very narrow border.
Add the panel to a 7” x 7” white card blank.
Add one of Barbara’s word stickers.
To finish, go round the edges of the sticker with a gold metallic pen.
I tried a lighter background ink when I first started, but the background did not come out as well.
