WOYWW 543: NEC Here I Come

Welcome fellow deskers to my weekly contribution to WOYWW care of Julia at The Stamping Ground.  Here desks from all around the world can be ogled and envied, messy ones, tidy ones and everything in between.
As you can see, I have been doing a little more work on the Advent Book that I started at a Workshop with Maria Moorhouse recently.  The matchboxes are all now glued together, ready to turn into the daily drawers of the book.  Maria's workshops are well worth attending.  She has one each month in Preston, one in Catterick and the one I attend in Shrewsbury.

Over the last three days I have been sharing the full projects from my sneak peeks last week.  I shall be sharing the last two tomorrow and Friday before I head off for an early train to the NEC.  I won a couple of tickets and decided to go on Friday as it is half term.  Hope to see some of you there.

Finally, the latest additions to the extended family.  My parents adopted some kittens and their mum from a cat rescue last month.  Pickles (top) is mum and the two kittens are Pearl(L) and Pixi (R).  They have settled in really well.  See you all soon.  I will have some time to visit today between samples as I am not at work this week.

Superb cards Sarah. The new bauble stamps are fabulous if I did not have so many unused Christmas stamps i'd have jumped at those.. maybe one to look out for in the future.
Congrats on winning the NEC tickets, i'm hoping to get there myself maybe tomorrow though. Look forward to seeing what you pick up, i'm supposed to be saving for other things :/ We will see.
Lovely new additions to the family.. they have settled in well.

It'll be interesting to see how the advent book turns out cos I can't imagine how the boxes are going to fit in at the moment! Have fun at the NEC, a few of my WI buddies are going on a coach trip that day as well but I've got too much on.

Wow, your cards are gorgeous. I love the bauble stamps, they really are fabulous and you've created such different styles with them. I love the shading on the purple one - what a really lovely eye catching effect. I am keen to see what you do with all your little boxes too - very intriguing!
Have a great half term,

I did a big advent calender with boxes as a class a couple of years - the decorating was fun but making all those boxes was a pain. You've got me wondering where it's gone...... I don't recall seeing it last Christmas!! Love that first card, its very pretty. Don't spend too much at the NEC!! Happy WOYWW Cindy #23

I'm late, I'm late for a very important date.....but I'm here now catching up with a few of my fav blogs. My day started off early when Phoebe and Lulu arrived for a day of crafty fun with me whilst their brother Steve, their Mum and Grandad went to watch Steve play in a football tournament.....if you want to see more then I will share pics on my Friday smiles [cos there were lots of those].
Really love the pile of little boxes and the cards are fab.
Hugs,

Love the photos of the cats - your mum is a gem for adopting them.
Pretty cards you have for us Sarah - I especially like the one with the three baubles on - lovely idea to do them as a trio.

Your Advent book looks really intriguing, Sarah! There are so many novel ideas for Advent calendars these days - I remember the old sort when I was a kid, with the glittery picture and the little windows that had to be opened, and the annual fight with my sister as to who got to open #24!! Lovely cards too. Gorgeous kitties, and so nice to see them snuggling up together now the weather's gone cold, isn't it. Thanks for your visit!

Happy WOYWW,

I love all of your lovely lavender ornaments! Did you watercolor them? or markers. I shall see what I can find on Hochanda.

I am late getting around. You are at the NEC. Wish we had something like that! Have loads of fun, you busy woman! You deserve it!
